Katy Perry led the pack in uber tight PVC leggings and S&M-inspired shoes as she signed autographs for her adoring fans. The 24-year-old I Kiss a Girl singer is up for International Female Solo Artist at the prestigious annual awards, which are being held at London’s Earls Court.
Joining Miss Perry on the red carpet were X Factor winner Alexandra Burke, Duffy, Estelle, Girls Aloud, Kings Of Leon, Kylie Minogue and country music sensation Taylor Swift.
So who picks the winners? The Brit Academy, which is made up of 1000 composers, critics, producers and music journalists from across the English music industry.
Only three awards are chosen by the public: British Breakthrough Act, British Live Act and British Single.
