ASHLEY JUDD: MOUNTAIN WHISPERER

Ashley Judd is protesting. Again.

The actress is calling for an end to the mining practice known as mountaintop removal.

Ashley was among hundreds of people who collected outside the Kentucky state Capitol yesterday (February 17) for a rally in support of legislation that would more-or-less end the practice of blasting away mountaintops to unearth coal.

The 40-year-old Kentucky native says she visited mountaintop removal sites last Fall and was not ready for the destruction she saw. She described “barren moonscapes” and “nothingness” where Appalachian peaks once rose skyward.

Three words: You go girl!

There are many more important things than this right now. The money crisis, the social service system, fuck, even peta is more important that MOUNTAINS. Wonder how Ms Judd feels about looking like S. Palin from that angle!

Sure there is the financial crisis, but this mountaintop removal has been going on for a long time and needs to stop. She can’t do anything about the financial crisis, so why not lend her voice to a cause she can help?

If you saw what they’ve done in the name of mining to those gorgeous mountains, you might think differently.
