STAR: I DIDN’T WANT TO DIE FAT!

It’s been almost four years since Star Jones Reynolds walked into a hospital and had gastric bypass surgery performed. But after all that time, the defunct ‘View’ co-host is still unclear why she kept it a secret.

“I had always been this girl out there who said I would die fat and happy,” she told ABC’s Diane Sawyer on ‘Good Morning America.’ “What a lie.”

And despite being a bold and often outspoken personality on screen, Star said she needed extensive therapy to start talking openly about her weight loss surgery.

“I wish I could explain what emotionally crippling control is,” she said. “It took me a long time in therapy to be honest with you, to open up.”

Watch part two of the interview with Star on ‘Good Morning America’ Friday.

BTW…WHy do people get soooooooo ofended by a fat person shame on getting a radical measure to change tehir helth and self steem…it is difficult enought to deal to one self own issues…I don’t think Star (what a stupid name to begin with) is a hero…but she is human…to much about her “liying” is more about people putting importance in really really vacuos ofence…Live and let live.

Well, I can’t stand Starr BUT this is the most I’ve liked her… ever. At least she seems to be coming to terms with some things for her own piece of mind which will free her (the one who matters the most) and us (from the lies and 2-faced statements). “Alot of my life was in the public of my own doing.” Absolutely. Now if every spoiled celebrity asshole would realize that instead of attacking the paparazzi, fans and the media for “bothering” them, then we’d all be spared their meltdowns (hear that Lindsey).

The honest truth is that NOBODY actually wants to be fat. Whether they say they are happy being curvy or not nobody actually wants to be overweight. It doesn’t look good and you don’t live as long as you should. They are the facts. That is the way our world is and its not all about looks as it is about health. If you want to live the best life you can live….you are better off being slim. I think Star realised this and it really doesn’t matter to me how she did it. The important thing is is that she realised her weight was tying her down and cutting her life short. She did something about it and she didn’t really need to confess about her surgery. In my opinion that’s her own business.

Star was well past the self esteem concern. People at her old weight do not live long. Gastric bypass is a desperate measure intended for, and in this case, used by, desperately unhealthy people.
