Just days before the Oscar presentation comes news that Best Actor nominee Mickey Rourke’s beloved chihuahua Loki has passed away. He died last night at the age of 18.
The elderly dog has been Mickey’s constant companion for years and the actor made his affection for all things canine very public recently when he won the Golden Globe last month. Singling out his pups for special praise, he said: “I’d like to thank all my dogs, the ones who are here and the ones who aren’t here anymore. Sometimes when a man’s alone, that’s all you got is your dog. And they’ve meant the world to me.â€

Awwww I feel so sad and sorry for him! It’s obvious he adores his animals and takes good care of them. 18 is a great age for a dog to live until, but it’s still devastating when you lose a member of your family. My thoughts are with him and I hope his little lady will rest in peace.
poor mickey ! I wish the best to him and may his little one rest in peace. His other dogs r very lucky to have him love them so much!
There was a time when I did not think he was much of a human being—but now i am begining to respect him and kind of admire him if for no other reason than his comeback deserves respect–I wish him well and hope his life continues to improve.
I’m so sorry for Mickey. He is a genuine human being, warts and all, and with a tender heart. Mine goes out to him.
