The spot was directed by Chris Robinson and was shot in the first week of February.
The song is about T.I.’s assistant Philant Johnson who was killed in 2006,when the rapper’s crew was caught up in a shooting after a show in Cincinnati that left three injured and killed Johnson.
The video premiered last night on T.I.’s Road To Redemption, an MTV series seemingly determined to glorify crime and prison.

Enough with hip hop being so tied up with guns and death and dying. It is pathetic. More morbid than goth people.
I love this song, and a loved the grammy performance, but the video is good too!
I love this song; it’s on replay!! But the video let it down (imo), could’ve been so much more; but it’s still good.
#1 Have you heard the song? He’s leaving all that behind him, seriously listen to the lyrics.
I dont think MTV is glorifying crime & prison, they are just showing the side of T.I. that wants change!
I take a little bit of offense to “an MTV series seemingly determined to glorify crime and prison”. The whole point of “Road to REDEMPTION”, and the lyrics to the song (if you REALLY listen) is to express a new mentality - taking time to think before we make mistakes. “That part of me left yesterday” - people should really take the time to listen to what’s being said…
I only really like Justin’s part of the song, T.I’s rapping is really boring and just sounds like filler in between an awesome chorus. I don’t like these rappers who need another artist to make their song. If they ever did a song not featuring someone else it would suck.
“T.I.’s Road To Redemption, an MTV series seemingly determined to glorify crime and prison” …did you even bother to actually watch the show before posting that trash? That’s just alot of noise right there. If you took the time to actually watch the program you would see how mindless, childish and uneducated that comment was. He’s doing the exact opposite. I don’t see how you can glorify that shit by locking a kid up in a cell for a while and then taking him to a morgue.. yea, wait… the glorification… your an idiot.
i love the song and T.I is the best i only hat the part with justin t in it.. i cant stand him.. Hey Justin how about doing a song of your own in rap and see how far you go since you seem to love it. Stay off Timberland’s coattails and others!
