Talk show darling Ellen DeGeneres has promised to start singing on her show in commemoration of Merv Griffin. She issued a statement today: “I don’t sing. I’m going to start singing in honor of Merv. I want to be as good as Merv. Merv had an amazing life. … We will all miss him. When my show gets back on the air I will dedicate the whole season to Merv Griffin. I plan on having fun.”
More fun that her usual chat with Gladys Hardy? Is that even possible?

Dear God, no, no, no. Do not let this huge ego of a woman sing. There will be glass breaking nationwide if she does!

I love Ellen!! She is so human, down to earth and funny. And what I like most about her is that she keeps it clean and finds humor out of things that are actually funny rather than things that are only funny because they are either a) sexual or b)gross. She’s the complete opposite of Rosie that’s for sure! It’s so sad about Merv and its great that Ellen is finding a fun way to remember him.

How can anyone not love Ellen? Everything about her is loveable. She doesn’t feel the need to talk shit about people in order to get recognized, people actually listen to her because she is funny and has a good head on her shoulders. She completely blows away that typical Lesbian stereotyping of being obnoxious and hateful. I love her show, and how she starts it off with dancing to Tony’s music. The guests also seem much more relaxed on her show than Letterman (douche) per say. She would be totally cool to hang out with!!

Ohmygawd, I saw the first show on which Gladys was on the phone and I busted out laughing. That was one of the funniest things I’ve ever heard: “I love Jesus but I drink a little”
