With her big Super Bowl performance out of the way, Jennifer Hudson has set her sights on her upcoming Grammy debut.
The American Idol alum was busy rehearsing yesterday (February 5) for Clive Davis’ annual Grammy party at The Beverly Hilton Hotel. Not only will she be performing her hit single, Spotlight, but she’s also up for four awards!
But before all that, J.Hud will warm up on Saturday night with an appearance at the legendary record exec’s annual Pre-Grammy Gala.
So how is Jennifer doing following her family tragedy? “She’s coped internally,” says Clive. “She’s coped with her family. I’m sure she’s coped within her religion. I was there at the funeral. I think that she has … to dig down deep, because this has been an indescribable tragedy.”
He added that Jennifer will also be performing a surprise duet “that people won’t see elsewhere.”
Despite her personal turmoil, Miss Hudson is moving forward with her life. In addition to releasing a new music video for If This Isn’t Love, she will soon being a spring tour alongside fellow Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx.

Can’t wait to see her. I am dying to watch her pick up the best R&B artist award while Beyonce cringes. Then all she’ll need is a Tony award and Beyonce will officially kill herself.
I swear I was just about to say the same thing! I hope the camera catches it too, hopefully there will be a ‘angie stare’ (if Jennifer wins). Beyonce will go Beowulf backstage haha, in addition the girls on crack thinking she can win an Oscar.
I wish her all the best, I can’t imagine what she went through. That guy should rot in prison for the rest of his life. I can’t imagine how someone can take another person’s life but the life of a child, come on. Jennifer looks beautiful here and yeah I agree with the above Beyonce will go crazy.

She looks like she’s lost some weight. I’m not surprised considering what she has been though, I’m sure she hasn’t felt like eating at all. It’s nice to see her covered up for once as well, her boobs hanging out everywhere all the time is not a good look. I think getting back into her career is the right thing for her to do, because it’s obviously what she loves to do and maybe it will be good for her. The poor girl has been through so much, my thoughts are with her.
