Enjoying a day off the set as real life buddies, Grey’s Anatomy stars Ellen Pompeo and Katherine Heigl enjoy the taste of fine champagne during a brunch date on Wednesday (February 4) in Los Angeles.

The bubbles seemed to have lighten the girls spirits as they shared a few merry laughs during their ritzy meal.

Meanwhile, despite not even getting nominated, Katherine has landed her first Oscar!

The Knocked Up actress and her hubby Josh Kelley reportedly took in a stray puppy after finding him dumped in a garbage bin in Mexico — and they’ve named him Oscar.

Josh tells E!: “Someone had taken the dog, put it in a bag, threw it in a trash can, and it was just yelping. We took the dog back to our place, and I took my golf toothbrush and scrubbed all of the fleas out of it, and we got all the ticks out of its ears, took him to the vet, got him all cleaned up, gave him shots, and then they let us take him home.”
