How can two girls with identical sets of genetics have such extremely differently style sensibilities?!
Hit-and-miss fashionista twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen hit up Social @ Ross in the Hamptons last night and their seperate entrances weren’t the only thing that was different. While Ash kept it chic in a bubble skirt, blazer and gladiator boots, lil sis MK hid her petit figure behind a teeny-weeny handkerchief nd her trademark fedora.

Definitely fashion icons.. I love Ashley’s outfit down to the gladiator boots! And MK looks perfectly cool and casual.. Love them both, but MK has always been my fave because she is a freak and she doesn’t give a fuck. Ashley is usually too vanilla.

Fashion icons for sure! AShleys boots are beautiful, and although manyp eople wouldn’t wear what MK wears, she pulls it off, and looks great.

They try to dress mature and chic like the other starlets but somehow never pull it off. They look like little kids. I bet they would rather be wearing pink dresses and braided pigtails. They should hire Rachel Zoe as their stylist so they don’t look so ridiculous.

i see some people already said it, but yea, they don’t have identical genes… they are fraternal. and i think even identical twins dont have identical genes, but damn well near it. i love the girls… they need style though. eh.

I think they both try way too hard to be a fashion icon. Simplicity is so much more. Sometimes the clothing they wear wears them. And at times they look absolutely ridiculous.

They just look ridiculous every time I see them. They wear way too much clothing for such little frames. They look like shipwrecks. They should start wearing clothes that fit their age. Their style is too mature for their age.

what I like about their style: it’s none of that laguna beach-beyoncé-glamour-stuff. nevertheless:

(if that sentence is grammatically wrong, forgive me - i’m european)
anyway, at age 40 they will still look like infants.

They’ve been in the Hamptons a while now…guess they have a place there for the summer. I think Ashley looks pretty good, although the shoes are ummm interesting and not very flattering. MK looks like a wreck though! I don’t know why she wants to dress like a homeless, crazy old lady all the time! The hat, the dodgy looking makeup, the stringy hair and the raggedy dress are just wrong. I thought she had changed her style a couple of weeks back to something a bit more sophisticated….guess I was wrong.

europe, you’re right. i love the way these girls dress. creative, fearless and yes expensive. what I would give to have their clothes budget….well, i’m sure they’re not on a budget or an allowance. how dreamy.

I just don’t get why rich people like to play ‘poor’. They try and pull off this ‘out there’ daring nonchalance crap and they can’t they just don’t have the je ne sais qoui (correct me if I’m wrong !) for it. They are fecking vampire hipsters.
