OSCAR NOMS STEP OUT TO FETE EACH OTHER

Kate Winslet was among the many A-list arrivals at today’s (February 2) Oscar luncheon in Beverly Hills. The annual event draws a healthy chunk of Academy Award hopefuls for some backslapping, fun-poking and fancy catering.

With six nominations and no wins under her belt, The Reader actress told reporters that her experince has given her “a really good losing face now.” She added: “I’ve perfected that strange Zen-like calm that you have to have in that moment when they don’t call out your name.”

Unfortunately, nominees Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were a no show. Should we consider that an Oscar snub? Not likely. The event typically gives lesser-known contenders a chance to get some attention.

Other invitees on hand included Amy Adams, Josh Brolin, Marisa Tomei, Mickey Rourke, Penelope Cruz, Robert Downey Jr., Taraji P. Henson and Viola Davis.

To hell with Brad & Angie, the event was probably better without them. Neither of them are going to win at the Academy Awards this year anyway. Brad couldn’t act his way out of a paper bag, he is the worst. At least Morticia Jolie can act, well that’s when she plays a lunatic like herself.

I love you Kate, but please get rid of that trailer trash bleach blond hair. It makes you look old and skanky when you’re actually young and classically beautiful. Thanks.
