Actress and children’s advocate Julianne Moore graces the February cover Redbook.
Moore, a mom of two, talks to the mag about her weight insecurities (”Of course I diet for roles; everyone does”), the challenges of staying married (”It’s not easy — you can see why a lot of people give up”), and why she is putting her energy into raising money for Save the Children this Valentine’s Day.
Some highlights:
Julianne on meeting her writer-director husband Bart Freundlich: “It was a movie-set romance. I’d never had a movie-set romance before and I was enjoying myself, but I didn’t take it seriously. After The Myth of Fingerprints ended…I’d visit him during breaks, then he’d come visit me. It just kept going.”Julianne on their Valentine’s Day plans: “He’ll maybe get me flowers, maybe we’ll go out. It’s more important for us to make time to see each other during the year.”
Julianne on the real Julianne Moore: “When I go to a movie premiere and have to be very dressed up, it feels like there’s a disconnect between who I am and who I am dressed up. That doesn’t feel authentic to me, because I’m not that way. I’m not particularly glamorous. I love sweaters and jeans more than a fancy gown. I don’t feel real.”
The February issue of Redbook hits stands tomorrow, January 27.

Didn’t think I could love her any more but I do! She looks stunning in the inside pic.
I would give up my future first born if I could find out she is able to maintain her hair color.
Beautiful! She is aging gracefully. She looks gorgeous.
