The trio visited the Santa Monica, CA eatery Blue Plate for a low-key meal. Both parents looked quite tired, which is only to be expected for a couple with a newborn at home!
However, Ben found the time to make faces across the table for Violet, who seemed to have boundless energy!

Well Jennifer doesn’t look to happy either so that makes two of them. She still has her post preggo belly which is to be expected. They do look tired and awful though.

These pictures are so tragic. Ben and Jen don’t look tired they look like a couple with nothing in common but their daughter and Jen wearing barrettes in her hair like her 3 year old daughter is laughable on a 36 year old woman.
The only one who looks happy is Violet.
Lane I couldn’t agree more! I was thinking how sad there isn’t a smile between them? They look at a loss for anything to converse about. You can only use the tired from the newborn excuse for so long-what was their excuse before? And yes-leave the ‘clippies’ at home Jen your not 3!

Well said, Lane. It’s true that you can read all kinds of things into a picture but Ben always, always looks miserable. Of course, he only married her because of Violet anyway. I honestly cannot believe Jen’s grown ass is wearing two different color clips in her hair. I’m embarrassed for her.

Jesus Christ — she’s got a tiny infant at home, so she’s basically the walking dead right now, and frankly I don’t think she gives a flying fuck what you people have to say about her choice of hair accessories. She’s not on a red carpet; she’s trying to eat breakfast with her husband and kid. It’s not all about what you and what you think she ought to be doing.

Oh, they look fine for newborn parents. I remember having an infant and the demands. Good to get away for a little while and enjoy some time for a little meal. From other sites, people who witness them together say they talk a lot, laugh a lot and are very nice. That’s good enough for me!
To me Ben looks pissed at something Violet is doing in that first photo,if they are so “tired”why dont they stay HOME!!! They are both so in to pimping that child to keep their faces out there,Im sick of seeing Violet going to and from school.

Obviously if they are out then they have someone to help them care for their children, so it may be a little naive to talk about how exhausted they are with a newborn at home. And last time I checked Ben was in DC looking quite refreshed and more engaged than he looks when he’s with his family. I don’t wish them any ill will but they do not seem to be the happiest couple and they seem like total opposites. For the sake of their children I hope they stay together (happily) but I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t.
Violet looks like a spoiled brat and the parents both look exhausted and as if they have nothing to say to each other. Maybe its exhaustion and nothing more, I hope.

Why are people so quick to judge snap shots throw a restaurant window. Ben was at Sundance for a day to promote a Documentary. The next day he flew to DC for MLK’s Day of service. Ben is involved with “Feed America” and some other non-profit organization ( I can’t remember the name). During Inauguration is when Non-Profit groups get major support and donations. With the economy as bad as it is more and more people are turning to these organizations to help feed their families. He was home the next day. Ben’s mother was in LA helping Jen until Ben got back. I think they look like a normal family out to eat.
