MY COUNTRY? MY HAT!!

Prior to President Barack Obama’s swearing in, Aretha Franklin belted out My Country, ‘Tis of Thee.

While the song was lovely, all eyes were on her bedazzled hat.

But since it’s such a historic day, we pardon Miss Thing’s fashion blunder.

Her singing was horrible! Did anybody see that? She seriously sounded like a dying cat.

Did anyone see her tell someone to ’shut up’? It looked like someone might having been gabbing during her song and she didn’t miss a beat and told the fool to shut up! I’m serious check the video, ?I’ve watched it 4 times and I think she said it! What a hoot!

She’s the Queen of Soul, and that hat is fit for a Queen!

I kind of liked the hate, but thank goodness she covered herself up. I also agree that her voice has lost something but I have to believe that it has to do with breathing and all that weight…well.

Shut the F up. No one disses the QUEEN. You suck for saying that. And for the rest of you, it’s FREEZING out there and it’s extremely difficult to sing under those conditions; it’s got nothing to do with her voice. I know, I’m a singer, and I am amazed she even got through it in those conditions. None of you can touch her, so just lay off and show some respect for the greatest pop singer this country has ever known.

Yes, people do “diss” “Your Queen”.
Now change your panties and lay down for a while.

    P.S. the singing WAS atrocious.

She may be fat, has a strange fashion sense and has lost her pipes.
    She still reigns supreme.

She’s the queen and I love her and have every LP up to the 80’s, but her voice isn’t there anymore and it’s less about age and more about the fact that it’s smoke ravaged. She’s a long long long long time cigarette smoker and although I read she quit a few years back, I suspect the damage was done already. I still have a bit of rasp and I quit 9yrs ago. She still did better than I thought she would.

I thought she sounded awesome actually, her voice is in great shape for a 66 year old to me!
