Mickey Rourke looked a bit surprised to see photographers waiting for him as he left Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills last night.
Perhaps he’s not quite used to being back on top in Tinseltown yet!
Meanwhile, Golden Globe-winning actors says he has sympathy for George Bush, particularly to the pressue he was under after the 9/11 attacks.
“President Bush was in the wrong place at the wrong time, I don’t know how anyone could have handled this situation,” he says in the new issue of British GQ.
“I don’t give a (bleep) who’s in office, Bush or whoever, there is no simple solution to this problem… I’m not one of those who blames Bush for everything. This (stuff) between Christians and Muslims goes back to the Crusades, doesn’t it? It’s too easy to blame everything on one guy. These are unpredictable, dangerous times, and I don’t think that anyone really knows quite what to do.”
Mikey says he was so angry after 9/11, he wanted to fight the war on terror himself. “I’m not politically educated. But I do know that after 9/11 I wanted to go over there, you know what I’m saying?”

He must be on drugs still. That is the only way you can feel sorry for BUSH THE PIG!
Glad he is back and he is 1,000,000,000% correct!
He’d better not light a cigarette or him and that tin foil suit are going up in flames! (and they probably should anyway - do we need to see him ever again?)
saw the movie
and holy shit
its good
^ SRAH, is that you? Didn’t you make some kind of dramatic exit not too long ago? Ha. (because your block writing style is very recognizable)
.
Anyway, he is scary to look at. He resembles Jocelyn Wildenstein, and considering how fried his brain must be (all those drugs, man)… well… he might as well be that Rock of Love dude. I can practically see him rolling around on the ground, trying to put out the fire (your warning came too late, ‘nova!)
Mickey must not have gotten the memo that you have to hate Bush in Hollyweird. Nonetheless, welcome back and he is 100% correct.
^meme is also 100% correct!! I can’t type what I was going to say because its already been said well enough. Thanks, meme!
9/11 was a counter attack. a pretty obvious one too. but it didn’t teach certain world leaders to stop butting into other peoples business and stop stealing their oil.
#1; I think you sound like a pig and I’m a Democrat who voted (reluctantly) for Obama. I support Mickey Rourke’s coments. I’m not a fan of President Bush but the problems with the war in Iraq can’t be blamed soley on him. Iran is sending terrorists into Iraq who are the ones killing civilians and our troops. I have several relatives serving in Iraq and most people in America are ignorant about what is going on over there.
scandic; We’re not stealing anyone’s oil! The ragheads are getting billions of our dollars by hiking the prices up. 9/11 was a terrorist attack against out country, morals and values. If you live in our great country I suggest you leave and live among your fellow terrorists in Saudi Arabia. What a freakin asshole! The radical Muslims hate us because we aren’t Muslims and have the freedom to do what we want when we want! We don’t want to live like barbarians from thousands of years ago like these savages do.
God Bless America!
How classy to attack Mickey Rourke’s appearance and drug use. Obama also used a lot of cocaine in college so are you going to hold that against him? What a bunch of idiots!
Madison,
We’ve heard it all before, hon. Guess what? We weren’t attacked for the whole “they hate us for our freedom” bullshit.
Finally a movie star that isn’t totally stupid and crazy drinking the obama koolaid.
Great actor and smart, who knew ?

Proof that it is not Bush they hate.
Right you are, Madison.
#10, um– should I have attacked his appearance in another post? Celeb blogs are full of pseudo-critics and sycophants. I’m not getting political here, I’m just doing what I’ve come here to do, and that’s comment on celebrities (like… his appearance). There aren’t very many Rourke posts on FYB, and you have to admit he looks scary. I rooted for him to win best actor even while I thought he was skeevy. Funny that you mention class though, considering this (and other) blogs have posts pointing out camel toes, exposed privates, and Pamela Anderson (etc.). Not to mention other crass stuff like attacking celebrity children, mercilessly making fun of celebs in every respect (body, talent, etc.), taunting each other, blah. But no, you get up in arms over criticism of a celeb who happens to have a political opinion that mirrors yours. So good luck with the class thing, and let me know when you find it.
.
Also, you don’t sound like a Dem when you’re throwing words around like “raghead”. WTF.
I don’t really blame Bush for anything. I certainly wouldn’t have had a clue what to do in that situation, and I don’t have any ideas or solutions even with hindsight.
Yes, Amy, but you are not someone who claims to be capable of leading the free world. Bush should be capable. The truth is I agree with Rourke to some degree, but as a POTUS, Bush and his Cabinet, and his advisors should have known what to do better than anyone else. Especially when they have access to the kind of intelligence they should have had. Anyway, I mostly blame Cheney, not Bush.
Bush may not be 100% to blame, but he certainly didn’t help. Therefore, he fails as president. He was placed in his position to act on other people’s behalf, but he only acted out of self interest or some twisted kind of machismo.
