Washed-up pop singer Lance Bass has taken a break from his current career as tabloid fodder to pen a book!
The openly gay former member of N*Sync, who is set to make his Broadway debut in ‘Hairspray’ in January, tells fans on his MySpace: “Im not an idiot– I wrote this book so that it might help those out there interested in the music industry, space, and/or coming out story.”
So, what? No steamy revelations of behind-the-scenes encounters with Justin Timberlake?

He was under an unimaginable amount of pressure while he was in NSYNC to stay in the closet. For a kid that young to believe that the careers of a lot of people, not just the group members, could be hurt if he came out..I think he’s got a story to tell. And if one scared gay kid in a middle of nowhere town reads it and learns to like themselves a little more, or gets the guts to come out, or decides not to kill themselves..it’s all worth it.
