Even celebs who may not be Golden Globes-bound donned glamorous duds last night at the Art of Elysium’s annual charity gala in Los Angeles.
Leading the galaxy of stars were Nicole Richie and Joel Madden, Tobey Maguire, Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter, Gerard Butler, Kate Bosworth, Marisa Tomei, Vincent Gallo, David Arquette and Courteney Cox.
The swanky soiree, held at a former cathedral included dinner, music, a fashion show and special honours for Eva Mendes and Jim Sheridan.
Eva was chosen to receive the inaugural Spirit of Elysium award for her work with the organization over the past two years. Jim, the event’s co-chair, was to be presented with the Visonary Award before passing the torch to next year’s honouree, Shepard Fairey.
Founded in 1997, the Art of Elysium encourages actors, artists and musicians to share their time and talent at artistic workshops for seriously ill children. Last year’s gala raised over $800 000.

Kate Bosworth is a lollipop girl–all head on a stick body that gets bonier day by day. Nicole doesn’t look right here. Usually she pulls it together for the more formal occasions, but this time not so much.
It is nice to see all these couples again and Toby and his wife expecting baby # 2 …Hope they are presenters tonight..When you see all these celebrities out for a good cause.. it is nice to know that people care..

PSL you are SO right. We all feel that way, she’s got connections, being who her parents are that’s why she’s in movies. Half of Hollywood is connected.
Nicole Richie is amusing, that’s what she is (or was). And some people find her to be very pretty… it’s a coin toss for me, though. Sometimes she looks more like a rat, which I think is the case here. Rumer was hit with the fugly stick, and on top of that, I’ve heard she can be a big bitch to anyone who’s not famous.

you guys are absolutely right about Nicole Richie being the same as Rumer. I happen to think Nicole is pretty and has great style, so I don’t mind looking at her. But I roll my eyes at her plenty.
