Queen Latifah looked nothing short of regal as she arrived at the 35th Annual People’s Choice Awards at L.A.’s Shrine Auditorium on Wednesday.
It’s her third straight year hosting the festivities and first since the writers strike reduced last year’s ceremony to an audienceless event with taped acceptance speeches by the winners.
In addition to being the host, Latifah is also a nominee, in the category of Favourite Leading Lady, and her starring theatrical vehicle The Secret Life of Bees is nominated for Favourite Independent Movie.
Next up for the Queen? After doing jazz standards for the past 10 years, she will soon return to her rap roots with an as-yet-unnamed new album due out in March.

Lame awards are fixed anyway, like the press no credibility anymore.
While I’m not a real fan of her hair color, it’s beautifully and simply styled. She looks gorgeous here. And that gown is nothing short of fabulous!
Love the gown but that hair color is all kinds of ridiculous — completely washes her out - mess.

Yes she’s a bigger woman, but she REALLY knows how to dress for her shape and not let her size be the first thing people notice about her. I really like her. Jennifer Hudson, while she may not be as big, needs to take some tips from Latifah on how to dress without looking like she is stuffed into her outfit. This dress is beautiful…that color is amazing!
I think she looks horrible, she is not bigger, she is down right obese. And im sorry if it bothers people that I told the truth, but she is. And I dont think obesity is flattering on anyone.
Aside from the flesh-toned hair color I agree that Queen Latifah looks great. Love her!
