Manchester United soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo recently split with his girlfriend, is still recovering from an operation and is fighting off rumours that he’s making a move to Real Madrid, but the soccer ace didn’t seem to have a care in the world as he returned to his hometown of Funchal, Portugal,
Spending the first few days of the new year poolside with his agent Jorge Mendes and family, Ronaldo looked in good spirits as he basked in the sun by the pool at his luxury hotel.
The 6′1″ international soccer star is a hot commodity these days, having won the European Footballer of the Year award last month. Meanwhile, he’s also is in the running for the 2008 FIFA World Player of the Year. The winner will be announced January 12 at the Zurich Opera House.

David Beckham is far more naturally good looking, Ronaldo has a good body but his face isn’t all that, millions of Portuguese men look like him facially. And people with such short memories, David Beckham achieved great success and accolades in his career, but he’s 34 this year, you can’t expect him to be winning things like a 25 year old can.

Nah definately not better than Becks. Yes he has a nice body, but he’s got that greasy Italian stallion look going which I just cannot stand! David actually seems like a really good guy and I don’t get that vibe from Cristiano at all.
Cristiano is too metro. Yuck. Not manly enough. He could have been handsome though. However, he is far more talented than Becks, hands down. Yes, Becks is a full-out star, and that’s just about all he has going for him nowadays (celebrity). Cristiano has more substance to his game.
