This decision was as timely and relevant as ‘The Simpsons’ movie. I mean, seriously — what is this? 1992?
Of the slew of energetic and opiniated hopefuls dying to take Rosie’s spot (Sherri Shepherd, Kathy Griffin, etc.) it’s sad to see that producer opted for another post-menopausal hag with old jokes and dated points-of-view.
I blame Hasselbeck!

IPost-menopausal hags is their audience dear (check their audience demographics). Certainly, you don’t think teenagers and young girls in their 20’s or young working women in their 30’s are watching this show do you? hey’ve ALWAYS had “old hags” on the show (even at the height of its neilsen ratings there was only one person on the panel representing the “youth” of today). Barbara Walters is an old hag. The old hags of the world buy products too darling. Whoopi is perfect for the slot. Besides, the youth have Paris, Lindsey, Nichole and Britney and Elizabeth Hasselbeck — yeah, that category has it going on.

I stopped watching as soon as Rosie left, but the possibility of Sherri or Kathy taking over her spot certainly would have brought me back. But not Whoopi.

i think it’s a great show of diversity to have her on.
a latina would have been better or even a woman in a burqa, but this is a step in the right direction.

I would have preferred Sherri or Kathy to Whoopi. Kathy would have injected some much needed life into the show. I can’t imagine her wanting to do that everyday, though.
