Nicole Richie’s big ABC interview isn’t scheduled to begin airing until Thursday, but I’ve got some quotable quotes from the expectant mother’s media blitz.
Nicole on her pregnancy: “I’m almost four months.” (ABC)Nicole on the past year: “I don’t consider it one of the worst. I think this was a blessing in disguise. This year has been full of lessons learned and soul-searching. … I will be really happy once I have done my jail time. I can start fresh.” (OK!)
Nicole on her guilty plea: “I have a responsibility and it’s something that I did wrong, and if I could personally apologize to every single person who has lost a loved one from drunk driving, I would. Unfortunately, I can’t, but this is my way of paying my dues and taking responsibility and being an adult.” (ABC News)
Nicole on feeling remorse: “I was watching CNN about a month ago, and they happened to be talking about young people driving under the influence. They were flashing little kids (on the screen) who were killed by drunk drivers, and it broke my heart. It was a big wake-up call.” (OK!)
Nicole on her sentence: “It was a fair, standard sentence. I expected that.” (OK!)
Nicole on comparisons with Hilton’s sentence: “We weren’t charged with the same thing. We had different judges. This isn’t a popularity contest, and it’s not up to people to compare my case with Paris’.” (OK!)
Nicole on why she was on a painkiller when she was arrested: “I have really bad menstrual cramps.” (OK!)
Nicole on whether she has taken drugs since December: “No.” (OK!)
Nicole on her favourite foods: “Sushi. I’m not sure how great that is for me. I also love pizza; I’m a junk-food eater by nature.” (OK!)
Nicole’s ABC interview airs Thursday and Friday during ‘Good Morning America’ and on Friday’s ‘20/20.’ Her OK! exclusive is on stands in New York and Los Angeles today and nationwide Friday.
Stay tuned for a story and the cover shot tomorrow!

Interesting….I really do think she has had a big wake up call but some of her comments there seem a little dodgy to me. The thing about drugs especially. I do think she has got a problem there but that she is having trouble overcoming it. It’s something that she really does need to get a grip on for the sake of her baby. I’ll be really interested to watch this interview, I like Nicole but she always comes across as a spoilt, kinda smug brat. I hope she doesn’t act like she knows better in this interview and that she seem sincere when she admits she was wrong.
aren’t you supposed to AVOID sushi while pregnant?
oh, she’s off to a great start.
I was reading some comments, and one girl posted how how she “loves Nicole and aspires to be just like her”- I am truly frightened for the future when I read comments like that.
^ I was JUST thinking the same thing!!! Sushi while pregnant. Like I said before, that kid is fucked. Britney and K-Fed, Nicole and her douchebag boyfriend - the next generation is going to be a mess.
All that soul searching didn’t stop her from shopping 7 days a week. Fake ass. Joel is a tool, by the way. they are both ugly inside and out.
As said above, sushi is very dangerous while pregnant.
How on earth can she be almost 1/2 way through with her pregnancy and not know that?
Stupid bitch!
Bitch shut your piehole- you frial ass hasn’t seen pizza the last 4 years, not to mention eaten it. Why these bitches have to lie in order to seem down to earth? WHy don’t they say” I’m not really a fan of food, I’d much rather have a bottled water and some cigs”.. Ew can you imagine the ugliness that will be their child? I’m sorry but it’s fair game until the damn rat is born.
You are bitch BeJeeBus.
Guilty as charged: I ate sushi through out my entire pregnancies (2) and nothing happened. They say you shouldn’t eat sushi because of the risk of having salmonella in un-cooked fish, but the sushi restaurant I always went (go) to has fresh fish. I have never feared being poisoned by salmonella.
Anyway, back to Nicole Richie: well, let’s just hope that pregnancy will change her and that she’ll become a responsible adult for once. I just wonder how long it will last between her and Douchebag Madden. But then again, who the fuck cares.
And yeah right she eats pizza!!!
She is going to be lucky if her baby even survives the rest of the term.
She hasnt gained one freaking pound.
The next generation I feel for, with parents like that.
I thought that was pretty funny, BeJeeBus or maybe I’m just a bitch too.
Gosh, she really IS pregnant. I didn’t think she’d be able to, I would have thought her stomach would have been so desperate for food it would have turned itself inside out and eaten her ovaries.
Of course she loves pizza! Remember those photos of her with the pizza jusssssst hovering around her lips?
Does she really expect us to believe her?
Oh yeah, I’m skin and bones, but I just loooooooove pizza and junk food! In fact, I think it tastes better coming back up!
And the sushi, is it like raw, uncooked fish sushi and or like a California roll (yummmm) or something like chicken sushi (also yum).
Chantelle, LMAO!!! You crack me up!!!
Wow, is she supposed to go to jail for eating sushi, too??? It’s not that serious, folks. I’m sure the baby will be fine. And she probably doesn’t eat sushi for every meal, every day. I actually think Nicole probably did get a wake-up call and is turning her life around.
I ate sushi four to five times a week when I was pregnant. For me, I realized that anything too greasy or not quite fresh would make me sick for days. Mostly california rolls and eel (which is cooked). That and fruit were the only things I could keep down. But she still is playing the effing Star Jones role on this. Maybe she always has been a junk food addict but you don’t go from a size 14 or whatever the hell she used to be to a size 0 still eating pizza and ish.
So, she gets bad mensrual cramps….so that’s why she was addicted to heroin for years and had to go to rehab……that explains it

Also, I think it’s worth remembering that, even though most deep-water shellfish contain trace amounts of mercury, the benefits of eating fresh fish - which is full of valuable oils, vitamins and minerals and promotes healthy brain development - during your pregnancy are extremely well-documented!!!
*Anyone concerned about the bacteria levels in raw fish (not all fish contained in sushi is raw, technically, that’s sashimi!) should note that sushi that contains pre-frozen fish is generally thought to be the safest. However, eating raw fish is still considered ‘risky’ by the FDA/CFSAN:
“Raw fish (such as sushi or sashimi) or foods made with raw fish are more likely to contain parasites or bacteria than foods made from cooked fish. Don’t eat raw or undercooked finfish or shellfish (including oysters, clams, and mussels)”.
Only certain types of raw fish are potentially dangerous due to mercury content and possibly mis-handled fish could carry disease (but then again so can chicken and beef) so, no, sushi in general is not a no-no.
And seriously, why start saying horrible things like the baby is a rat? Would you want someone saying that about your unborn child? That baby has done nothing wrong to anyone. I hope it comes out happy and healthy. Say what you want about Nicole.. she knows what she’s done and atleast is taking the punishment without acting like a spoiled brat. That’s a step in the right direction. i hope i hope i hope
Oh and being a junk food person doesn’t mean she actually eats junk food… she just likes it (but stays away) I feel that excerpt could be taken out of context.. i’ll wait to read the article myself.. U know me.. always TRYING to think possitively with these train wreck celebs… mostly and sadly to no avail
she sounds like she’s taking this more seriously than paris.
What’s the point of liking something and not eating it ? Makes no sense.. I know I am a bitch anonymous, but at least I gave you the chance to recognize my posts next time I scribble something down, which is more than I cna say for you. And yes I will consider her baby a rat because she is a rat and her boyfriend is an ogre but that’s a whole different story. Once it’s born I will never ay derrogatory things about it. That’s just me, take it or leave it.
Madden looks like crap. He’s all blue-white, pasty and bloated. Check out the spare tire in the middle. He could pass for my 50 yr old uncle Arnie.
whats wrong with sushi?! its on the of healthiest food out there, thats why people live longer in japan because what they eat is fresh and not oily.
Just b/c she says sushi is her favorite food does not mean she is eating it while she’s pregnant.
I am pregnant, sushi is my fave food, and I am not eating it!?!
So calm down. Oh and how easy is it to judge a famous person - I’m sure you are all so perfect. HA HA HA HA yeah right………………….
