As you may recall, T.R. recently asked to be released from his contract with ABC, a request that both the network and Grey Anatomy’s show-runner Shonda Rhimes appear poised to grant.
T.R.’s alleged desire to hang up his stethoscope was because he was unhappy with the storyline. The sudden dismissal of Brooke Smith — who played lesbian character Dr. Erica Hahn — from the hit show, a move which shocked the actress, likely didn’t help either.
Rumour has it T.R. is back in L.A. to finalize the contract details and tape his final scenes.
Now the question is: Was it best for T.R. to get out while the getting is good (let’s face it — Grey’s is a sinking ship) or is this career suicide.
Stay tuned!

By the way the woman that played his ex lover is married with two children she is not gay…!! And to top it
all off he did not say he was leaving the show.. So lets put him and B, Getty and Kathrine Heigl in the same
ABC CLUB.. of announcing ahead of time that they are leaving the show..
I think it’s a bit of both. I can’t picture him on the big screen as any kind of leading man (or supporting)… but if a show is starting to suck, I think it’s best to move on. Don’t want it to taint you any more than it has.
.
Then again, I’ve never watched an episode of Grey’s Anatomy.
He didn’t have much of a career before GA and he probably won’t have one after he leaves the show. He and Heigl are both going to be known as actors who put themselves before everything else and continually bite the hand that feeds them.
If they both leave and bring back Isaiah maybe I’ll start watching again.
