UDPATE: The family’s lawyer, Michael Ossi, confirms that Jett suffered a seizure at the family’s vacation home at the Old Bahama Bay Hotel on Grand Bahama Island. Attempts were made to revive him, but he died at the scene, Ossi said. Unnamed source as saying Jett fell and hit his head on the bathtub.
UPDATE: The AP is reporting that a house caretaker found Jett unconscious in a bathroom late this morning. He was taken by ambulance to a Freeport hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to a statement from chief police superintendent Basil Rahming. The teenager had last been seen going into the bathroom on Thursday and had a history of seizures, according to the statement. Police said they are planning an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

That is very sad news…my heart goes out to John Travolta, Kelly and the rest of their family and friends. When your child has a problem like Jett had, I think many parents know, but don’t want to admit, that their child probably won’t outlive them. And I don’t think that Scientology would stop John from helping his children in an emergency.

They’re now saying that he was last seen going into the bathroom sometime the day before and was found by the caretaker this morning at 10 am. WTF. They didn’t check on they disabled child after he didn’t come out of that bathroom for HOURS? And the caretaker, not even his family found him?
I hope Social Services investigate the ravoltas. There is no doubt in my mind that Jett was killed due to parental abuse. John and Kelly are cult members who denied their handicapped son the proper treatment. Tripp was murdered and the Travoltas should be held accountable for their negligence.

John Travolta has been in denial since Jett’s diagnosis of Autism at around 2 yrs. He has kept him hidden away from the world, you won’t find many pictures and usually only talks about his daughter. He even recently said that he wants a son, he has a son, or had a son! Because of his beliefs in Scientology, he never did any early intervention, Scientologists do not believe in therapy! If he would have believed in his son, and given him a chance, things would have been different. The thing I don’t understand is that if John & Kelly knew Jett was disabled enough to have an aide for him, then why was the aide not aware of Jett’s whereabouts from some time on the 1st to 10am on the 2nd? That’s the aide’s JOB ~ to take care of the disabled person and to keep tabs on what they’re doing.
His caretaker wasn’t doing his job if he let him go to the bathroom on the 1st and doesn’t check up on him again until 10am the next day. That makes no sense whatsoever. He doesn’t come out of the potty for nearly 10 hours and nobody checks on him?

I’m concerned now about the condition of Kelly Preston’s other son - he was born before her relationship with John Travolta. He is older and disabled as well. They never ackowledge or discuss him but Kelly’s parents raised him. They even had to sue Kelly for child support. The boy does not live with Kelly. It’s supposed to be a big secret. I pray he is still alive and did not experience an unfortunate “accident” like Jett.

It’s true. Kelly has another son by her first husband in Hawaii, who is cared for by her family. He also has severe problems, and can’t live on his own. She never speaks about him.
Kelly’s family had to sue Kelly to get her first child treated with traditional medicine and therapies. There is a huge rift between them because Kelly wanted total $cientology control over the kid from California. Her family, who diaper and feed the boy (all grown up now), who provide the hands on care, won the case and the child gets the best of whatever modern medicine can provide. This has been confirmed by court records even if Kelly pretends he doesn’t exists now.
I suspect that Kelly refused to pay for any evil Western medicine or psychiatric drugs and that the court case made it her obligation.

All this speculation is disgusting and appalling!!! I am a teacher and, trust me, I have seen even medicated children continue to get seizures!!! I have taught special needs kids whose parents have put their kids through brain surgery to stop the seizures and the seizures still continued but the child just received more (irreversible) brain damage…leave the Travolta family alone. They should not be judged especially during this difficult time….Also there are so many parents of special needs kids that can not take their kids on too many outings because of safety reasons (e.g., wandering away, episodes, anxiety etc…). Again, the Travolta’s should not be judged….raising non-special needs kids is difficult enough so you can just imagine raising one with with unique needs….

I don’t care what the autopsy results come back saying. Scientology played a part in this. Just as everyone else is saying: why 10+ hours alone in the bathroom? why did the caretaker and not the parents find him? why was ella not included on this “family holiday getaway”? why was a disabled child left alone for so long without being checked on? Here’s my theory. Laugh if you will. The kid had medical problems. A secret, yet not so much a secret. A condition that was frowned upon or simply didn’t exist in their cult, excuse me, I mean religion. They took Jett away to perform a ritualistic “cleansing” ceremony, and things went wrong. You’ve all heard of those exorcism stories that crazazy ass parents perform on their kids that throw temper-tantrums and shit and they end up dead. Well consider this to be something like that. You’ll see.
Jett Travolta suffered two tragedies. The first was that his parents refused to acknowledge his problems (which, if not caused by autism, were clearly not caused by Kawasaki’s disease). The second was his death.
I don’t know what kind, if any, intervention Jett was receiving, either behavioral or medical. If Jett didn’t receive any physical, occupational or behavioral therapy to improve his condition then the Travoltas should be held morally accountable, and left to deal with the consequences. If it turns out that if Jett had seizures prior to the one that killed him, and the Travoltas chose not to treat them, then they should be investigated and criminally prosecuted for neglect.
Next to Jett, the person I feel sorry for the most is Ella Blue, whose parents belong to a cult whose beliefs may have caused her only sibling’s death.
I have no sympathy for John or Kelly. They are the parents. It was their job to protect Jett. They failed him.

Rebecca stated, the parents by law are responsible “only” if the child was diganosed with “autistism” before or have a past medical history of seizures and was prescribed medication for seizures. If none of this was ever reported or recorded the Travoltas get off scot-free. You have to have diganoses from a MD, doctor to confirm condition. If it was never recorded. There is no case because there is no evidence. There was no evidence of pre-existing poor health condition(s) recorded.

Jett looks like a normal child for the first half of his young life. The photos show him happy, responsive and functional. Jett appears to be healthy. His face, mannerism and weight is fine. He actually looks like a cute kid.
HOWEVER everything changes when he hits the age of about 12. Suddenly there is a drastic change in his physical appearance. I could not believe my eyes! Now Jett looks Autistic or retarded. He is grossly obese. The kid even has kankles. He developed a Downs Syndrome face. Something is not right.
I don’t know what the heck happened between the ages of 10~12, but Jett clearly changed. I can understand why the Travoltas started hiding him at that time. Jett became obese and retarded. He looks drugged and nonresponsive.

Fishy, he was probably put on a medication that had him gain weight. It is a common side effect from anti seizure medication. I believe that he had a brain disfunction with autistic behaviour as side effect, maybe he developed it when he had Kawasaki Syndrome and had a high fever and complications, that is why his father said he suffered from the syndrome. We’ll never know.
I completely agree with Fishy, with the exception of one thing: the problem started way before the age of 12, IMO. Starting with what appears to be around 6 years old, he has little if no expression in his face or eyes, many of the pics were just a dead stare. Also, there is very little eye contact with his parents or into the camera lens. Poor guy. This probably could have been avoided had his brainwashed parents sought proper medical treatment. BUT– know this. We shall never know the truth. The Bahamas are horribly corrupt and any spin that the Church of Scientology puts on this (and throws some cash at) will likely become the truth. There is something fishy / creepy about this case, but the tragedy of it overshadows it.
I’ve been teaching autistic kids for 14 years now. Many times at workshops, at school etc… we talk about autistic expressions and behavioral tendencies. Out of curiosity, on our own (myself and another teacher) researched pictures and videos of Jett because we were discussing celebrity children who had autism (Jenny McCarthy’s little boy, Jett). Jett most definitely had some of these characteristics (blank stare, lack of eye contact among others). His weight can be attributed to anti seizure medication BUT that medication does not address or help with the autistic condition. It’s a hard diagnosis for any parent but to blame it on something else and not get him the help he needs is wrong, but as we all know, celebs don’t face punishment here on Earth. They surely will on judgment day. In any case, medication or not, belief in his autistic condition or not, they did love him and it is sad for their family.
Why weren’t Jett’s caretakers questioned and held in question for not putting him to bed…and keeping him there… They are responsible too… How could he hit his head on the bath tub..and what was his caretaker

several years back my daughters and i moved to port orange, Florida. I began working for a cleaning company in the area, the owner steve cornell, had fired a girl that worked at the travoltas, he asked if i would take her place. I was shocked, yet excited about the job. i stayed all day, and i remember not being able to vacuum until after 3pm. john was noctural. in writing this blog today, i’d like to share a sweet story about jett, the nanny at the time was prisilla presley’s mother, there was one day when i watched him only for a short time, i felt honored with the trust. he was eating rice, chinese rice i think, i think the only thing he ate at the time, he was eating nicely and i looked away just for a few seconds, but when i looked back the sight i saw was the cutest thing- all in his hair, all over his face, all over the floor. i did not mind cleaning it all up, i was left with a smile on my face. I think of that, every so often, and giggle to myself! all i know is that i cried last night and felt deep sorrow. The travoltas were very kind to me and kelly was even worried about me when i was out for 3 days from he flu, i also did’nt want to get jett sick. My marrige ended and i went back to Dallas, working for the travoltas, is one of my fondest memories in my life. kelly, john, my deepest, deepest sympathy to you and your baby girl. Did the Travolta family not treating their son with modern medicine possibly result in his passing? It is a sad day when speaking of death results in queries from the very public like myself that MADE them the rich and famous people that they are by watching their silly asses in theatres. I am very soory for your loss of your son JETT, I feel that there is always something that can be done ,rather than not doing anything at all.I personally feel that Jett was a healthy baby and grew up as a beautiful young man.
The porblem I have is this : You have a beautiful boy which developed some kind of illness
(for some unknown reason, probably unattentive parents).
Secondly, no one seems to hear this boy speak. So now ,you have a boy with an illness and also can not speak ( to tell you or others whats going on or yell if something is wrong).
Thirdly , is the worst of all ( if the first two are not bad enough) You have a boy and he has this illness and also can1t speak ,,The only thing he has to look forward to is “LOVE “.
When this Love is not shown,minimized or taken away,the person feels unwelcomed and unwanted.
