Fans and partygoers alike forked over between $75 to $799 (for a VIP private table) to check out the Just Dance songstress flail around on stage for a 30-minute set before the big countdown.
Much like fellow one-hit wonder Katy Perry, 2008 has been a great year for Lady Gaga. But the peroxide blonde singer will be the first to tell you that it’s not all due to her mind-numbing pop tracks.
Who does she credit? Christina Aguilera! Rather than hate on her for biting her futuristic image, she thanks Xtina because it gave her publicity.
She tells Britain’s OK! magazine: “She says: “Well, it was very flattering when it happened. She’s such a huge star and if anything I should send her flowers, because a lot of people in America didn’t know who I was until that whole thing happened. It really put me on the map in a way.”
Now the question is: What will it take to get her off the map?

It is time for Lady GaGa.
I gotta say I just love her album!! Best cd to play before a night out or just driving around in the day. She has definately been an overnight success though and the way she talks sounds like she has been famous for years. I remember someone asking her what it was like to be a celebrity, and she said ‘I’ve always felt like a celebrity so it’s no different for me’. I don’t really like that. I think she deserves her success though as she actually produces her own stuff and is a very unique performer, before everyone started copying her. Her hair looks like a birds nest here though!
I like her album too. And um, it’s a wee bit ridiculously early to start calling people like Katy Perry or Gaga “one-hit wonders”, considering they came out in the last two years… and it’s their first albums. Wait and see.
I bought her CD and I liked most of the songs, very fun! I hope she lasts a long time!
