While Times Square certainly had its share of New Year’s Eve festivities counting down to 2009 last, MTV teamed up with Miley Cyrus to celebrate the year’s end with one of the biggest parties of the year, FNMTV Presents: A Miley-Sized Surprise…New Year’s Eve 2009.

Viewers were treated to special live performances from Miss Miley, who hosted the show from the house of a lucky fan, and rang in the New Year by congratulating someone who spent 2008 helping to better the lives of others.

MC and her #1 fan Alison Kaprielian will spend the first day of 2009 hanging out together, participating in activities for Alison’s favourite charity and visiting with friends. Along the way, Miley will be showering her with gifts and treats throughout the festivities.

Part of the “Miley-sized” surprise included performances from All Time Low, The Academy Is …, Kevin Rudolf, Aussie singing twins The Veronicas and Miley’s brother’s band Metro Station.
