Bristol Palin, the 18-year-old daughter of former Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, gave birth on Sunday to a healthy 7 lb., 4 oz., baby boy in Palmer, Alaska.Meanwhile, Babydaddy Levi Johnston is currently training to be an electrician. As for first-time mom Bristol? She is taking correspondence courses to obtain her GED.“We think it’s wonderful,” said Colleen Jones, the sister of Bristol’s grandmother Sally Heath, who confirmed the news. “The baby is fine and Bristol is doing well. Everyone is excited.”
The baby’s name is Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston, according to Jones.

I do wish them well. I like the name they gave their son, and in fact I like all the names Palin gave her kids. I did think they were to be married before Tripp arrived, and I think if she had won, it would have gone that way. Still don’t like her (cannot believe she was #2 on the gallop for most admired women. Headscratcher for real.)

What’s with all the admiration for these two kids, coming from the same breath of those who raged at the younger Spears girl finding herself in a similar situation? The Spears girl also studied for her GED, and her SO was a construction worker, I think. Those same people claimed that the younger Spears was glamorizing poverty and welfare by giving birth outside of marriage, being a teenage mom, etc. etc. Where’s the difference?

And those posters all referenced the same tired theme in their comments: glamorization of poverty, welfare, blah blah blah. For evidence, simply type in her name in the FYB search engine and look at the posts from her pregnancy announcement.
