President-elect Obama, along with his sister Maya Soetoro-Ng, celebrated their grandmother’s memory yesterday, spreading her ashes at Lanai Lookout, the same place they memorialized their mother following her 1995 death.
Barack’s grandmother — who he called “toot,” his version of the traditional Hawaiian word for grandma, “tutu” — died November 2 at the age of 86, 48 hours before her grandson would be voted President of the United States of America.

The photos are lovely. Barack is truly a family man. Glad he was finally able to give his grandmother the memorial she deserved. Everything was so rushed because of the election.

In accordance with the regulations determined by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, (cremated) remains must be scattered 3 nautical miles off the shore line.
