Ladies and gentlemen — meet the new Lindsay Lohan!
With a cigarette in one hand and a mixed drink in the other, teen queen Hilary Duff parties the night away at celeb fave Area nightclub on Thursday night.
The 19-year-old role model hit up the L.A. hotspot with her new 26-year-old hockey-playing beau Mike Comrie.
Here’s hoping this incident isn’t the first in what may likely be a career-ending boozathon.

I’m willing to give her the benefit and say it’s club soda for now. After all, when you’re as high-profile as Hilary, I hardly think a club like Area would allow her to drink so openly after the whole Lindsay Lohan incident.

I don’t care that she’s drinking, as long as it isn’t a bad habit and the start of a downward spiral……I certainly drank at 19……..we are all harder on Lilo, b/c we knew she has a problem.

I’m guessing that is a cocktail, but I don’t think she has a cigarette.
I like her — did not like the horse teeth phase. (Did she grow out of them, or did she get them fixed, or did I get used to them? Her teeth don’t bother me anymore. How come?)
Anyway all I ask in this world is that she and Amanda Bynes don’t end up skanks in rehab/jail. Is that too much to ask?

ok-I’m so sick of everyone scutinizing celebrities..they are only human. I just turned 21, and I know for sure that for the last 2 years I’ve been hanging out with my friends at house parties drinking, and now, at 20 and 21, I was at the clubs every other weekend or so. She is young, its the time to go out and party. Everyone who criticizes celebs for partying are plain hypocrites in my opinion, or jealous. If they had the opportunity to do what the celebrities are able to, they would to. So everyone needs to shut up. I enjoy looking at new pics of celebs on these websites to see the new trends and see them when they get glammed up, and to hear news of new songs and albums and what not…I’m so sick of hearing about their lives and the fact that they got cheetos at a gas station…who fucking cares!!!!

Anonymous, you have to consider the hypocrisy of your post. You’re not only at a gossip site, you’re posting comments there. Wouldn’t that mean you care?
I’m a little disappointed that she’s smoking (she’s totally blowing out smoke on the second pic) but it’s her life. Yeah, many underage kids drink (I did) but I don’t remember snorting coke in night club bathrooms or driving around drunk/high. There’s a line between just being young and being a self-destructive addict.

Ah…the bliss of ignorance and the ignorance of youth. I’m surprised that more people aren’t bothered by the fact that she’s 19 and sleeping with a man who’s 26. She’s still a child no matter what the legal age of this or that is. That really is borderline statutory rape and he should be ashamed. But ya’ll will understand when you get into your 30s.

I don’t see anything wrong with it. She has all her clothes on and seems to still be in control. I agree that the drinking age is silly… I guess I’m just used to the 18-year drinking age. Anyway, I’m not going to fault her for acting in the way many 19 year olds act. The only difference is that there are people eager to take her picture and publicize it across the states. Any bit of controversy, eh. As for the smoking… I can’t tell if she really is smoking, but it’s legal at her age. All I can say is that I consider cigs to be gross– but I did try it out to see what it was like when I was her age (okay… so that was almost two years ago ;). The worst you can say about her, from these pictures, is that the drinking and possible smoking disappoints you. No need to defame her though.

Jennifer- there is no big difference when someone is 25 and 32, or older than that. At 19 and 26, there is a BIG (or at least there should be) difference in maturity and experience- it’s just gross. She is still a CHILD in so many ways.

Erica- should she NEVER drink or smoke? Did you do that? Why should she? She is young she wants to go out and experience things.. Even if they aren’t necessarily good for her. I don’t mind at all, actually I am glad to see she is quite normal and not all Mickey Mouse Club as I thought. As long as she can balance the two, good for her. Throw some grass in the mix and you’re good to go

BJB, I think she meant that she hoped to never Hilary like this. While there is nothing worng with occasional drinks, we all know the pattern that the young stars tend to follow, and usually the “one underage drink” is where it starts.
As long as she doesn’t make it a habit AND keep her clothes on, I will always respect her.

the issue is not that she;s drinking underage, it’s that she’s underage, a celeb (so people know her age), and they serve her. it’s the bars that need to be patrolled. (and yes, i had fake i.d. at the age of 17 and went out nightly).

Who cares if she’s having a drink??? I still don’t ever see Hilary Duff going the way of Lindsay Lohan. I’m more concerned with the fact that she’s 19 dating 26 yr. old!!! That’s fucking disgusting. Some of you can defend it because she’s “legal” and what not but there is something VERY WRONG with a 26 yr old grown man wanting to be with a 19 yr. old, period. And that applies to Joel Madden, too. That is just gross.

God…just because she’s drinking and smoking does not make her the next Lindsay Lohan! I’m not a fan of Hilary’s but I don’t think she’s really a party kind of girl. I’m sure she enjoys a good night out like the rest of us and she has every right to party. And celebrities are not the only people allowed in to clubs underage. I think the first time I got let in to a club was the Viper Room (yeh I know lame) when I was 16. They want girls in the clubs, famous or not.
