With season 8 of American Idol set to begin in just a couple of weeks, Simon Cowell has jetted off to Barbados with ex-lover Sinitta for a little pre-show R&R.
The music mogul showed his low-key side as he relaxed on the balcony of his hotel today following an afternoon of jet skiing.
The expense of the luxury holiday is just a drop in the ocean for Simon, who is currently reaping the rewards of this year’s Christmas chart-toppers like his latest British protege, X Factor winner and Hallelujah singer, Alexandra Burke.

I dislike this man now, how stupid can you be to give a new artist ‘Hallelujah’ as their first single, or any single. He should be ashamed; they all (contestants) killed that song slowly. It should have remained with Jeff.

I love Alexandra Burke’s rendition of the song precisely because she didn’t try to do a remake like everyone else does. She did it her way using her own strengths and she did it well.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Alexandra I think she has a lot of talent; and hopefully she will become worldwide. But I think that’s a lot of pressure putting that song on her, and it may backfire considering people are downloading the original to beat hers in the charts. I personally prefer Jeff’s version, it has a lot more emotion in it.
What the… am I the only one who hasn’t heard of this Burke person? Is that song playing on radios or something? I feel so left out :o(.

She won X Factor last week, (it’s sort of like a British version of American Idol). We’re just commenting on the winners song that was chosen by Cowell; Jeff Buckleys ‘Hallelujah’.

as for simon, not terrible, but he could use some toning up.
He is simply the coolest dude. No B.S., very insightful and direct as well as a philanthropist for both human and animal charities. I applaud his massive wealth. Go Simon!
