Melissa Etheridge dropped by The View this morning and it wasn’t long before a little debate went down between the lesbian rocker and co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck over Prop 8.
After saying that “taking away rights is very un-American,” Mrs. Ethridge turned her attention to Elisabeth to discuss a previous show’s chat on the issue when she cited a Swedish priest.
Things got heated but both ladies managed to keep their cool.
Eventually resident village idiot Sherri Shepherd – who was rocking a horrendous wig straight out of the Lil’ Kim collection — interrupted what could have been a must-see-TV moment to ask Melissa sing a Christmas song.

America was not founded on Christianity. The whole point of the Founding Fathers was to keep government out of religion and let people worship how and what they want. Pilgrims came here mostly to avoid religious persecution in their own countries.

the “Stupid Law” that you referred to in your first post had be passed by voters. Its the second time that the law came into play, and was passed by voters. By taking away their voice repeatedly, it undermines the basics that our country was founded on. We aren’t a dictatorship, these judges should not be able to overturn laws that the voters have passed repeatedly. That’s why we are a democracy, because we are given a voice.
Furthermore- if it is no ones business then why is it being pushed? You need to notify the government and state that you are married by getting a marriage lisence, therefore it becomes anyone’s business.
