‘The View’ is expected to announce its new cohost by August 2, a timetable confirmed by both NYC tabs this morning.
While the New York Daily News calls Whoopi Goldberg a shoo-in to join the talker, Page Six posits that a triad of Whoopi, Kathy Griffin and Sherri Shepherd might rotate in and out of the pair of chairs vacated by Star Jones and Rosie O’Donnell.
Team Sherri! Let’s face it — Whoopi is irrelevant and only gay men like Kathy.

I think she’ll do good - better than she did on the radio (her radio show sucked and it tanked in the ratings). But she has a calming effect on those other 3 hags (whereas Rosie was far more inflamatory). Whoopi can make an intelligent point without arguing or bullying someone down in a debate (yet she is still strong minded). Eh, I like her better than Star or Rosie.
AGREED! I really enjoy watching her guest host… she’s good at taming those ladies and you can tell all have mutual respect for her.. LOVES IT
^for SURE - they needed someone who was old enough to have a certain amount of respect and cred in the biz but “in touch” with reality enough who could still relate to the average audience member. Whoopi’s a star, but she’s also a mother AND a grandmother (and a single woman).

^I like Kathy Griffin too - but she would be WAY TO OUT OF FUCKING CONTROL for daytime television (especially with those hags and some of the “hot topics” they are supposed to discuss with civility). Kathy is foul-mouthed, counter-culture and talks shit about celebs contstantly — I LOVE that about her but she could NEVER do that shit on “The View” - why would anyone want a watered down Kathy Griffin?
I’ve never been shy to admit I watch The View. I am, however, a hetero male (not that there is anything wrong with that).

Whoopi as moderator would be good, she is fair and controls the table. Joy is trying to become the new Rosie and is making waves with everyone so they need an adult to keep things civil.

Sherri is funny but would the show agree to have two black women? I like hearing her talk about her martial issues and her baby. If you don’t know who she is, she played Robert’s police partner on Everybody Loves Raymond. She’s a stand up and very funny.

Kathy Griffin would be EXCELLENT! Her guest stints she was trying to be a litle Shock-Jock-y I think b/c she never expected to be invited back. I think she would be great and stars who don’t take themselves too seriously would LOVE HER! They would probably lose potential guests tho, like Gwenyth P. or Madonna who just can’t take a joke.
^but they can’t AFFORD to lose those stars (however humorless or annoying they might be). if they don’t have those celebrities (which bring in ad/commercial revenue) - they don’t have a show. Period. Not on daytime talkshow television.
I can’t stand kathy Griffin. Even when she was on Brooke Shield’s sit com I found her irritating as all get out, and stopped watching it because they writers kept making her part bigger and bigger. Hearing her voice is like nails going down a chalk board. I haven’t watched the view in a long time, cause I am normally at work when it is on, but I have seen Sherri fill in, and she was great!
I love Kathy Griffin and im not a gay male…..her show is HILARIOUS and I think she would be great on the view….will for sure make it more tolerable to watch than Elisabitch.
Don’t you think Joy would get upset if Kathy G. was made part of the panel? I mean dry humour is what she brings to the panel. And I like Elizabeth. Her politics are a little stiff but its good to get a younger point of view mixed in with the menopause set.
I like Whoopi. She’s gotten better with age. I listen to her morning show on the radio. Of course, I have never watched the view so it doesn’t really matter to me.
