$250 MILLION FOR THIS?!?

Despite having only played for the LA Galaxy for a mere 12 minutes, David Beckham shows his loyalty to his new team with a hoot and a whistle during a fast-paced game on Tuesday.

Still suffering from an ankle injury, Becks sat out for the match against Mexican squad Pachuca, avidly watching the action alongside pal and former Manchester United team-mate Phil Neville.

Despite some clearly agonizing moments, there was also relief when Galaxy won the match 2-1 at LA’s Home Depot Center. Perhaps a bit of Becks’ magic has rubbed off on the team, who until now have been on a three-game losing streak!

Next up for David? A match against another Mexican team, Chivas de Guadalajara, on Saturday. No word on whether Becks will grace the field with his cleats.

What is this post about exactly?
Well I’ll warrrant a guess, it might be about the fact that David, he’s just learnt how to read! He looks so happy here and his family must be so proud! He’s so “special”.

hey, that’s the risk you take with athletes- there is always a chance tehy’ll get hurt and won’t be able to play. I’m sure this is not the first or last time it will happen,

Oops. For some reaosn when I clicked on this the post didn’t show. Its true he’s gotten hurt but he gets ‘injured’ a lot and people have questioned that in the past. They are paying him a lot, you’d think he’d take better care of himself.

he’s been playing professional soccer since he was 17 [?] so now that he’s in his 30’s isn’t it only natural that his ankles are causing him problems 10+ years of non-stop training for crying out loud!! … all athletes have injuries at somepoint.

One local youth soccer team in our area here in Phoenix is raising money to go to LA to watch him play. He’d better be well by then b/c those lil kids are working their hearts out!

^I’ll bet if he knows about the youth soccer team, he would make some arrangement to meet them or something IF he can’t play…. he has done things like that for children in the past

How sad to move from world class soccer and playing at one of the top teams in the world, to LA GALAXY!! He sold out. It just shows that soccer aint that important to him as fame and wealth are.

BeJeeBus.. same with our athletes here.. example: baseball.. no loyalty for teams anymore.. a-rod is the best example of this.. going for the money and glory.. I can def see ur point though… He’s getting old though, this would be his last chance for a “nest egg” before he has to retire.. look, he’s already broken
