The late actor’s father, Kim, and mother, Sally Ledger, along with his sister Kate released a statement today on news that the actor, who died unexpectedly last January from an accidental prescription drug overdose, had received a Golden Globe nomination:
“We thank the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for honoring Heath’s performance in The Dark Knight. This nomination is deeply appreciated and is not lost on those of us who continue to love and miss him. We are so proud that our boy’s work is being recognized in this way.”

It was proved that he accidentally overdosed on sleeping medication and medication he was taking for a cold at the time. Get your facts straight you pieces of shit. He was a talented actor, caring father, and a geniune guy. A few points -
Leger most likely did have a major substance abuse problem, but that isn’t what killed him (at least not directly). It could have. It probably would have evidentially. He mixed medications, which is’nt quite the same thing as knowingly taking a lethal dose of a drug. I doubt that it was an intentional suicide. Not that mixing medication prescriptions isn’t incredibly STUPID, it is, but many people do it —- even people who don’t have substance abuse problems. So, I think it important to make that distinction, don’t grab multiple sleep aids or switch between them, the same goes for cold medications.

What is wrong with some of you, honestly. If he had a substance abuse problem, it was an illness and something to be pitied. He was a good father, which is what mattered. His death was an accident and a tragedy.
