CATE THE GREAT IN AUSSIELAND

Cate Blanchett quite literally glittered on the red carpet today during the Australian premiere of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button at the Sydney Theatre.

The gorgeous actress wowed onlookers and fashionistas alike in a stunning Balenciaga creation.

Cate is already in the midst of another Academy Award campaign, which could net her a second Oscar after surprisingly missing out last year for her portrayal of Bob Dylan in I’m Not There.

The 39-year-old actress — who had just stepped off a plane from L.A. in the morning — told reporters that nodding off on her flight from the US put her in good stead. “I slept for eight hours on the plane,” she said. “You know those creases you get on your eyes - that’s me.”
