Through work in New Orleans with his Make It Right Foundation, Brad Pitt is trying to make a difference by bringing together architects, residents and community leaders to create guidelines for rebuilding. Their goal is to make new homes that are affordable while incorporating green technology, sustainable design and being adaptable to survive the unpredictable weather of New Orleans.
For all his efforts he’ll be gracing the cover of the January ‘09 Architectural Digest.
With 150 homes ready to be completed, the dogooding actor and his foundation hope to bring back the Lower 9th Ward and use that model for other areas around the world. “We’ve cracked something here…these houses redefine affordable housing…this is a proving ground for a bigger idea that could work globally,†he tells the magazine. “This project is not mine anymore. It’s so beyond me.â€

Man, I can’t believe I’ve watched this man age from a young, verile, chubby-cheek man/boy in Thelma & Luis to a middle-aged man. Looks good, still. But… wow. I feel old. Damn you Brad Pitt!
So right Supernova!! lol!!!
he only looks good when someone swishes the airbrush over his photos. he looks really bad now. Bloated and odd…like he’s getting fat or something. he is not aging as good as George Clooney and JOhnny Depp.
BRAD HAS DONE MORE FOR NEW ORLEANS THEN THE DAMN GOVERNMENT EVER DID!
SHAME ON YOU BUSH!
Ok either lots of foundation, or photoshopping. Cause nhe don’t look like that in his candids.
Ahhh Johnny Depp, vaious thoughts come into mind lol
Screw what he looks like- He is making a difference in peoples lives and that’s what LIFE is about. I agree with elle.. what the hell has ANYONE done for the rebuilding of New Orleans? Not a damn thing. Katrina was a catastrophic tragedy of great proportions in this country and I doubt it would still be in ruins if it were let’s say a town called Beverly Hills USA.
He looks sooo handsome here! Angie you are the luckiest woman alive!
omg, he looks like a joker he is so old and funny looking what has he done to himself.
Be kind of nice if the house was the centre point of the picture.
Very well said, Suzy. Good for him!
Thank you Brad and thats from all blacks from the bottom of my heart.. you and Angelina are really making differences in poor folks lives.. GOD BLESS YOU BRAD AND ANGIE and black folks will always appreciate you and have your back!
Excuse me Suzy, there are a hell of lot of other people working on rebuilding New Orleans other than Pitt. Habitat for Humanity has already built repaired and built hundreds of homes for victims of Katrina. They have working for over 3 years. As far as I know no one has actually moved into one Pitt’s homes - thought they may be doing so soon. I considered giving money to make it right 9, but after I read that each house/family had a budget $150,000 and looked at the designs I made the check out to habitant instead. Upkeep, one of the major housing problem residents of the lower 9th had before Katrina will still be a issue with the new homes. Pitt’s heart might be in the right place but I am not convinced he knows how to help.
My cold cynical heart just wonders how long it will be before certain citizens of NOLA have the new places trashed and how long it will take before they start screaming that the government isn’t doing enough to fix their wrecks. Yes, there are good people, but unfortunately, there isn’t much they can do about the trash.
