Beyonce did not lip sync… there were too many pitch problems for her to be lip syncing. She’s the only singer that can dance and sing at the same time.

I only watched a few little snippets…I didn’t see Mariah but I’m really hoping she didn’t lip sync. She has an amazing voice, there is no need for her to do that. That photo of Beyonce is just too hilarious…why is she holding up her ponytail like that? She’s put on a bit more weight as well….those leotards do not look good. I thought Miley’s performance was really good, and no doubt the excitement of it being her birthday made it better for her.

Okay, so let’s be cool, calm and collected and look and this from a PURELY technical viewpoint.
First of all, when one is performing all out with a mic in one’s hand, it’s near impossible to HIDE the sounds of breathing. Think of a MICROPHONE’S job. Don’t be upset just because you’re a fan and you don’t want to be betrayed. There is no reason to be angry and hurl insults.
It’s true, Mariah lip sync’d and Ms. Sasha Fierce did NOT.
While B’s performance was incredible, so too was the addition of Kathleen Battle with Keys and Queen (holy weight loss!).
I hope the artists keep up the good work and as someone here already stated….. Haters, fall back. If you’re not convinced watch the performances again and you’ll hear everyone taking a breath EXCEPT Mrs. Cannon.

um com on ….mariah is not dancing…shat she aint even movin…so she is not going to be out of breath smothering the mike with her CO2 but if you listen to the performance CAREFULLY you can tell its live because at times she struggles to hit certain notes, sings with the back up singers sometimes and doesnt others, and it doesnt hold the long note as long as she does in other versions
Just because one isn’t dancing or “movin” as you put it, does NOT mean that in performance, one wouldn’t be out of breath. If you enjoy denial, continue to believe the performance was live!

I think the song he’s talking about was Genie in a Bottle when she sung a different line then the back-up singers but it all blended in well you couldn’t tell.

Mariah, who sang LIVE, killed it. Her voice really sounded great last night. Beyonce’s tired ass, however, lip synced. Only the true Beyonce stans are delusional enough to think that was live. It was actually embarrassing to watch that performance. The song is just so stupid as well as the leotard. Sit down Sasha Fierce…..

Mariah carey did not sing live for at least the latter half of her performance. She is notorious for recording a “live-sounding” version of the song so when she actually does lip sync to the actual performance, it sounds live.
Mariah was so boring.

For years and years and years every performer on the AMAs has lip synced. It is a Dick Clark production, and like bandstand very few performers actually do live performances. The only time I care about a performer singing live is when they are on stage while on tour where fans have paid a small fortune to see their idols. Anyone who lip syncs while on a tour should be called out for fraud.

In my opinion I do not think that beyonce or mariah lip sung during their performances. Of course beyonce put on some pounds I mean after all she did just finish a movie. She decided to gain the weight that was required for the movie on her own instead of putting on a fat suit to play the role of etta james.. The song and the video for single ladies was bomb so stop being a hater. Beyonce al\ways gives and excellent performance.

mc didnt lip synch how the hell can you lip synch to a live orchestra,
and also if she was going to lip im sure she would have recorded a version where she didnt struggle at parts, like a flawless version, but the version she sang LIVE to did have flaws, but it was still gooood =)
