With all of the High School Musical 3 hoopla over and done with, Vannesa Hudgens finally has some time for herself!
Looking oh-so trendy with her designer handbag, oversized sunnies and Suri-esque bangs, the 19-year-old actress hit up Chez Nous for a lunch date with a pal in her Toluca Lake, CA neighbourhood.
While she may be lavishing in riches now, it’s her humble beginnings that an old pal speaking openly about.
Mia Lindquist, a classmate from the prestigious Orange County High School of the Arts that Vanessa attended, tells The Mirror: “Vanessa came from a really different background to me and most of the kids. Her family wasn’t well off. I don’t think her parents even had a car. They lived in a small place. It was pretty humble. I never really saw her dad as he worked a lot. Her mum was a cleaning lady whereas most kids at school had their own cleaning ladies. Vanessa always wore cheaper clothes, but she looked just as good as everyone else. She constantly talked about wanting to be a successful actress and become very rich.”
What’s more? The British publication reportedly received a string of hate-filled messages on Facebook. Says one former classmate: “Most people I knew thought she was a total b*tch.” Says another: “She wasn’t very liked. She was just mean in a snotty girl kind of way. And we’re all kind of disappointed that out of all of the talent at school… she was the one who became successful.”

I feel kind of sorry for her that those photos are out there. She was incredibly stupid to have taken them in the first place, and they are just going to haunt her forever. Her style has come a long way lately, she’s been looking really good. I think the bangs look great actually.
