Now that glamorous Beckham clan have touched down Stateside, it’s finally time to get on with the day job for David Beckham.
The soccer ace has been getting his practice on at the Home Depot Center where his LA Galaxy soccer team is based.
Becks appeared raring to go yesterday as he joined his new team-mates for his first practice session. But news of a nagging ankle injury could force the midfielder to miss his debut match on Saturday in a friendly against Chelsea.
The LA Times reports that as of Monday, Beckham’s injured left ankle – which he sustained early last month while playing for England in a Euro 2008 qualifying game – remained swollen and sore threatening to delay his weekend kick-off.
Coach Frank Yallop says we can blame the aggravated status of his condition on the long flight last Thursday from Britain to L.A.
Personally, I prefer to blame wifey Victoria Beckham. It’s just easier.

the pics online of him yesterday at the Coffee Bean, I realized is my Coffee Bean……it is right down the street from my apt, and I’m there all the time……..I would have LOVED to have seen him!
sigh…….
Watched the Posh show last night. She seems really cool and normal. Not like that bitch Paula Abdul, who should never have done a reality show, she is nuts!
i LOVED the show last night!…she was charming and funny….loved it
I was surprised that I like the show last night too, luckily there wasn’t anything else interesting on or I’d have skipped it.

And I agree yo yo, Paula’s show is so stupid! Notice how she changed her statement from “I’ve never done drugs,” to “I’ve never done recreational drugs.” Sounds like something Elvis would say.
I was disappointed in last night’s show. I was expecting her to be funny, cool and laid back. Well, she was quite the opposite. I thought she acted like a stuck up bitch. I didn’t like the way she talked to her assistant and it really annoyed me that all she was concerned about was wearing heels, heels, heels. She sounds like such a high maintenance prima donna. I shouldn’t have watched the show, it totally ruined it for me.
Americans just don’t care about soccer as much as other countries. I don’t think it matters if he plays or not. There may be a slight burst of attention for him when he starts but it will fade. I have not heard even one person say they will start to watch or go to games because of him.
i thought his first games was going to be here in Toronto against FC…
i loved the show last night. i thought she was self-depricating and made fun of herself acting over-the-top.
she was good with the assistant after their initial meeting.
