JOHN MCCAIN: DON’T BLAME SARAH PALIN!

John McCain made his first post-election appearance on a taping of The Tonight Show today.

When asked about making another run in 2012, the 72-year-old senator said this was his last try for the White House. “I don’t think so, my friend,” he told Leno. “It’s time for another generation of leaders.”

The defeated presidential candidate told host Jay Leno that VP candidate Sarah Palin was not to blame for their loss, and that she will “play a prominent role” in future GOP politics. You heard that right — prominent!

He also joked that losing the election to Barack Obama isn’t keeping him up at night — well, not really. “I’ve been sleeping like a baby,” he said. “Sleep two hours, wake up and cry. Sleep two hours, wake up and cry.”

I love his sense of humor about it. I voted for you dude in 2000 and even though I went another way this time, I still like you but I have ta tell you that yeah, Sarah DID put a gi-normous dent in things. Can’t stand her, and I will fight like a dog next election against her if she runs.

    God bless you JMCc

^^^ Totally agree!!! John McCain was the Maverick and he was a great candidate in 2000. Unfortunatley, that asshole Bush and his crew played real dirty and ruined McCain. He will always be a true American hero!!!

How dare Palin not embrace abortion as the ultimate civilized ideal of modern culture? How tacky that she speaks in a vivacious regional accent indistinguishable from that of Western Canada! How risible that she graduated from the State University of Idaho and not one of those plush, pampered commodes of received opinion whose graduates, in their rush to believe the worst about her, have demonstrated that, when it comes to sifting evidence, they don’t know their asses from their elbows.

Liberal Democrats are going to wake up from their sadomasochistic, anti-Palin orgy with a very big hangover. The evil genie released during this sorry episode will not so easily go back into its bottle. A shocking level of irrational emotionalism and at times infantile rage was exposed at the heart of current Democratic ideology — contradicting Democratic core principles of compassion, tolerance and independent thought. One would have to look back to the Eisenhower 1950s for parallels to this grotesque lock-step parade of bourgeois provincialism, shallow groupthink and blind prejudice.—Camille Paglia, (democrat)

I voted for Obama, but it was really bad the way the media and democrats treated Palin. I think most democrats, apart from the really crazy ones like Barbara Streisand, realize she was treated unfairly.

This man has honor and is very respected by everyone, something Obama will never have. As for Palin she is a threat to everyone because she is a true breath of fresh air…look-out all you Sarah haters she will be President one day.

I remember when Lloyd Axworthy lost the Liberal Party leadership quite a few years ago - he used that sleeping like a baby line as well. I liked it better back then when it seemed original.
