Will Smith’s kids have slowly but surely been following in his footsteps, appearing in films and working red carpets.
Now comes news that younger son Jaden is starring in a movie being made just for him: a remake of Karate Kid.
Per Variety:
Columbia Pictures is back in the dojo with a new version of the 1984 hit “The Karate Kid,” which has been refashioned as a star vehicle for Jaden Smith.
The script is being written by Chris Murphy, and the film will shoot next year in Beijing and other cities. While the new film will be set in that exotic locale, it will borrow elements of the original plot, wherein a bullied youth learns to stand up for himself with the help of an eccentric mentor.
The younger Smith, who next stars in “The Day the Earth Stood Still,” is a martial arts practitioner.
So much for letting your kid just be a kid!

He is a really cute kid but I think being just like your dad and having no individuality is not a good idea!! Kinda weird family!!!
Don’t forget Jaden was in that movie with his dad about a homeless executive… and he has done other work
too.. They didn’t say that he got the part or that Will will let him do it…
A black student with an asian instructor..
If anyone who saw this kid on Oprah would not promote him in film. He’s an arrogant little brat, an attitude his parents seem to foster. He needs the pedistal knocked out from underneath him!!
Sorry, I meant PEDESTAL.. WIll do yourself a favor and give that kid a new attitude.
I’m with cukaha, the kid is a total and utter brat. He may be cute until he opens his mouth and his tude spills out.
Nepotism is alive and well. Shame.
