ARKANSAS FEARS THE GAYS

While a lot of good decisions were made last night, there is still a reminder that hate, ignorance and hillbillyism are rampant in the United States.

Yesterday, 57 percent of Arkansas voters decided that the state’s 9000 children in foster care are better off there than adopted by a gay couple.

Because, you know, having two loving moms who want the best for their child spells disaster.

Sorry…If gays were meant to be parents, they would have the necessary parts to conceive.

Apparently California also is not so fond of the homos. The land of fruits & nuts just decided not to let the fruits marry or have any rights at all. Who would have thought that CA would become a backward bigotted state?

The good thing about the old republicans is that they are dying day by day one at a time…
    yesterday they lost massively!
Their ideology officially expired last night…so the ones that voted republican can count on their negativity and failed visions to bring nothing to themselves or others…of corse they like that! morality is a tool for control not for growth. That’s why all the progressive and educated Americans are fed up with the stupidity they called ideology

Sponsors of the ban declared victory early Wednesday, but the measure’s opponents said too many votes remained uncounted for the race to be called.

This is idiotic. Yeah, let the kids languish in a broken system unloved instead of giving them the chance at a happiness with two people who want to give them a good life who just happen to be of the same sex. Ugh, makes me fucking sick.

I guess I need a new name now. Sarah Failin is on the first thing smoking back to hickville Alaska. OBAMA!

america makes me sick. 2 parents are always better than foster care or SINGLE PARENTING. the dynamics of having 2 people is proven to help children whether the parents are a man and a woman or a woman and a woman or a man and a man.

I’m a female lawyer and have been following this blog since it’s inception (blogspot days).

I have to say, I’m really proud of the person who runs this blog. Your balance between entertainment, politics and sensitivity to diversity has made me swear off of Perez (which was my original go-to source for entertainment news) a few years ago. You offer a much better alternative, are always on top of gossip news and seem politically astute.

Good job. I hope you continue to contribute in positive ways.

I really don’t think its right to call people in Arkansas Ignorant Hillbillies. Are we all supposed to be “united” now? I guess California isn’t too fond of gay couples either. Does that make them Ignorant Hillbillies?

In California, Prop. 8 was passed. Leading Voters for this proposition are Blacks and Latinos. How fucking unbelievable is that. The ethnic group fighting for equality are the same HomoPhobes who discriminate on Gays and Lesbians and deny them of their basic right. It’s Ironic!

Get a life you fucking religious wrong-nuts. God teaches humility, love, forgiveness and tolerance. Yet, you take the time to deny your fellow human beings for their basic rights. This Proposition is unfair and must be repealed.

And it is that same God that made man/woman to conceive…..nobody else.

I am disgusted that people would agree a foster home is better than a loving family for an abandoned/abused/orphaned child. Yes, men and women conceive and then they abandon and abuse their children. How many of you preaching the word of god actually step up and adopt these children? Very few. You just talk about it instead. The majority of abused and abandoned children are from god fearing straight parents. Any loving, decent person who goes through the proper channels should be allowed to adopt NO matter what their sexual orientation. This country took one step forward yesterday and two steps back.

I think it’s a pretty hard issue to judge. Children who are in foster care are certainly better off with caring, loving parents…whether that be a heterosexual or a gay couple. The problem though is some of the issues that come with being a child to a gay or lesbian couple. They will be judged whether we like it or not, by other children and by other adults. Unfortuantely to have parents of the same sex is not a norm yet, and until it is I think it’s pretty hard on the kid to be placed in that situation.

Why don’t you ask someone that has two mothers? I grew up with two moms, in a ’small, ignorant, hick town’. It didn’t make my life harder, I didn’t get beat up for it. Most kids were actually impressed that my family was different. I’m not a freak of nature, I never did drugs, didn’t drop out of school, didn’t get the urge to become gay or even have to therapy to get through it. People think you are sheltering children by keeping away from the ‘freak of homosexuals’. Because you’re gay doesn’t make you less loving or less capable of caring for children. In my experience gay people are more aware of how unloving the rest of the world can be, and the people that understand how to love EVERYONE else, are the best parents.

This is disgusting and to the person who said that 2 parents are better than a single parenti I’ll have you know that single parents do the best they can and that I would gladly sacrifice anything and everything to give my child everything. I also know gay friends of mine who have fostered children and these children get the love and support of any other family, their children are growing into happy adults and that america can’t understand this sickens me.
