Brooke Smith, the actress who plays Dr. Hahn, sat down with Entertainment Weekly to say she was just as surprised as anyone that her recently outed lesbian character was being removed from the show.
“I was very excited when they told me that Erica and Callie were going to have this relationship. And I really hoped we were going to show what happens when two women fall in love and that they were going to treat it like any heterosexual couple on TV.”
Sad to see her go?

I have never been a fan of the show but I saw 27 Dresses this weekend and Katherine Heigl was really good in int!!
who’s going to do all the heart surgeries?? The lesbian story line was a little odd, I thought. I’m not against same-sex relationships, but the other chick she hooked up with was so OBVIOUSLY straight…just did not fly. I hope this show turns itself around and gets better storylines…I’m starting to lose interest.
Could they not have removed the cement block from the guy in the picture? Yikes!… that’s all I had to say, I don’t really care about the story, seeing as how I don’t watch the show..

This is really sad. There’s been some great acting on both sides of that storyline. I was truly just starting to get interesting.

I personally didn’t like the storyline. I have nothing against homosexuality but the pairing of Callie & Hahn was just all kinds of wrong. Maybe if Hahn had been a little hotter it would have been more belivable. Their scenes just seemed so forced. Callie went from being Callie O’Malley to being a fake-lesbian — the show can do better than that.
