BEST COSTUME EVER, MARTHA!

Everyone on the set of The Martha Stewart Show today – including Martha, the audience and Gossip Girl star Blake Lively – wore a costume inspired by a statue.

Dressed as Cleopatra, the 21-year-old actress helped Martha as Medusa prepare a pumpkin-chocolate marble cake while chatting about Blake’s evening plans. Late night partying a slew of Hollywood hotspot? Don’t even think about it!

Says Blake: “I have to work tonight. We’re shooting Gossip Girl. So I’m going to try to have my own celebration. I’ve got some candy for our crew.”

A nearby spy tells FYB that Blake and co. will soon head to celeb eatery STK steakhouse in Manhattan to film Gossip Girl throughout the night.

If there was ever a reason to pay 70 bucks for a piece of meat, it’s tonight!

I don’t get why celebs cheap out on Halloween.
Blake could have worn any number of grecian style gowns in her wardrobe and looked way better than that tacky costume store crap one she wore.

Martha looks great! Very inventive and unique costume. I think Blake looks gorgeous as always, she makes a good Cleopatra, but I agree that celebrities do cheap out on Halloween. They worry too much about looking hot all the time. There are only a few female celebs who I feel have put vanity aside and just worn a good costume. Gwen as an egg for one, and Heidi Klum is usually pretty awesome as well.

That’s a VERY creative costume Martha came up with. I wonder if she had a taxidermist (sp?) do the snake headdress or if she wrangled her own reptiles to make it.

Wow, very well done. I am too interested on who she had make the headdress of snakes?

Lots of good ideas here! There is a retail chain in New York called Ricky’s NYC that has a ton of fun costume ideas, including some you discussed here. You can check it out online at http://www.rickyshalloween.com or http://www.rickysnyc.com
