A STAR IS BORN!

He once shunned the spotlight, but “Joe the Plumber” (who, in reality, is neither named Joe nor is he a plumber) is now ready for his close-up.

Equipped with a publicist, the darling of the Republican party has a book coming out in a couple of weeks and is now setting his sights on a singing career.

Says Joe: “They talked about possibly throwing me into the studio. I think we’re going to have a good laugh” and that will be it. “I never ever have entertained the notion.”

As for how he managed to hook up a recording contract? Country crooner Aaron Tippin, who met Joe on — where else? — a Fox News program, says: “There’s something in that guy’s voice. They’re something magnetic about Joe the Plumber. He is real America and I’ve fallen in love with the guy.”

No word on whether John McCain plans to make Joe part of his cabinet should he make it into office.

Wurzelbacher’s new notoriety has brought to light the fact that he owes nearly $1,200 in unpaid taxes.
    .
“There is a judgment lien against him for nonpayment of income tax,” Barb Losie, deputy clerk of the Lucas County Court of Common Pleas, told ABCNews.com. “The state files hundreds of liens a day. It means he owes that money.”
    .
Losie said Wurzelbacher owes $1,182 from January 2007, but no action has been taken against him outside of filing the lien.
    .
“There is no judge pulled, there is no attorney assigned… There is a 99 percent chance he doesn’t know about the lien, unless he did a credit report or was ready to pay his taxes,” Losie said.
    .
A second lien has been filed in the courhouse against Wurzelbacher for $1,261 that he apparently owes St. Charles Mercy Hospital. That lien was filed in March 2007.

    Obama also said,

“ It’s not that I want to punish your success. I just want to make sure that everybody who is behind you, that they’ve got a chance at success, too… My attitude is that if the economy’s good for folks from the bottom up, it’s gonna be good for everybody. If you’ve got a plumbing business, you’re gonna be better off [...] if you’ve got a whole bunch of customers who can afford to hire you, and right now everybody’s so pinched that business is bad for everybody and I think when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody ”

Wurzelbacher spoke to Katie Couric of CBS Evening News on October 15, shortly after the conclusion of the final debate. Asked whether Obama’s proposed $250,000 tax threshold would affect him, Wurzelbacher replied: “Not right now at presently, but (…) he’s going to do that now for people who make $250,000 a year. When’s he going to decide that $100,000 is too much? (…) You’re on a slippery slope here. You vote on somebody who decides that $250,000 and you’re rich? And $100,000 and you’re rich? (…) Where does it end?”[18] He also said, “I asked the question but I still got a tap dance …almost as good as Sammy Davis, Jr.”[18]

Wurzelbacher held a press conference at his home on the morning of October 16, following the debates, where he refused to express support for either candidate. “I’m not telling anybody anything” about which candidate he prefers, he said, adding, “It’s a private booth. I want the American people to vote for who they want to vote for.”[

THEY ARE MOVING IT DOWN TO 100K PEOPLE!!!

    Dear Fellow Business Owners:
As a business owner who employs 30 people, I have almost resignedmyself to the fact that Barack Obama will be our next president, and that mytaxes and fees will go up in a BIG way. To compensate for these increases, I figure that the Customer willhave to see an increase in my fees to them of about 8-10%. I will also haveto lay off six to eight of my employees. This really bothered me as I believe we are family here and didn’tknow how to choose who will have to go. So, this is what I did. I strolled thru the parking lot and found eight Obama bumper stickerson my employee’s cars. I have decided these folks will be the first to belaid off. I can’t think of another fair way to approach this problem.

Please no more political posts because the idiots come out in full force repeating their Fox News talking points. None can tell you why they’re voting for McCain they simply exist to spew hateful venom at Obama. If you can’t beat him then lie about him. It’s amazing that the Republicans have screwed this country for years and now they’re offended that smart Americans, real Americans aren’t falling for their bullshit anymore. The more you listen to the wingnuts the more they sound and act like Nazis. They follow blindly and repeat whatever they hear, over and over again. It is sad and pathetic to see a party that doesn’t have any ideas and can only rely on fear and ignorance in order to win. Happily next week this will all be over and these wackos can go back to their bunkers and resume predicting the end of the world and we can get back to mindless entertainment gossip.

    “smart Americans, real Americans”

Heh, sorry to say it, Hmmmm, but the morons are real Americans too. ;) Anyway, it’s interesting to see how political commentary has devolved over the past few months. It’s like all the rational people have stopped saying anything b/c they’ve either a) made up their minds or b) gotten weary of arguing with the wingnuts. From here on in, most of the online political debate is gonna be a battle of the mouthbreathers.

Right or wrong it looks to me like Obama is going to roll right over McCain next week. McCain just has to much of the Bush stink on him…..

  18. October-29-2008 @ 9:18 pm

Notice how liberals viciously smear anyone with whom they disagree with personal attacks. All Joe did was ask a simple, fair question of Obama. Because Obama inadvertently revealed his redistributionist agenda in his answer, Obama, Biden, Democrats, the media and people commenting here have attacked Joe. They’ve even gone so far as to use gov’t computers to do illegal background checks on him. Is this the type of intimidation and harassment of private citizens we can expect from an Obama administration? It’s sad, scary and revealing that liberals would actually defend this type of inexcusable behavior.

  19. October-29-2008 @ 9:36 pm

19….”The more you listen to the wingnuts the more they sound and act like Nazis.”—hmm

“hmm”, we’re all used to seeing your irrational posts on this blog, and most of us simply pass over them and dismiss them as the incoherent rantings of an unstable, uninformed liberal bigot. But you’ve surpassed even your own typically high level of hypocrisy when you accuse conservatives of behaving like Nazis (a socialist party by the way). It’s the Obama campaign and their willing accomplices in the media who have attacked Joe the Plumber, a private citizen who did nothing but ask Obama a question, abused power with illegal background checks on Joe with government computers, and formed “truth squads” comprised of lawyers and law enforcement to intimidate those who disagree with Obama. It’s democrats who illegally hacked into Palin’s personal email. Who’s really behaving like Nazis here? Whether you are a democrat, republican or independent, any rational person would acknowledge that the way the Obama campaign and the media have treated Joe the Plumber is wrong. But of course, “hmm”, you defend this behavior.

Just because someone criticizes Israel doesn’t make them a terrorist. Our blind allegiance. I am completely sick of us clearly biased lean for Israel. No one should ever resort to violence to justify an end (take note dubya), but when people are dirt poor and have nothing, and oppressed by another group of people, it doesn’t take a genius to wonder why they resort to the only thing they have - violence. It’s desperation and despair.

  22. October-30-2008 @ 1:52 am

25….spoken like a true hate-filled, intolerant liberal. Way to represent!

  23. October-30-2008 @ 2:01 am

26…..There’s the “hairball” we know and laugh at, justifying the murderous acts of Hamas and Hezbollah. “Just because someone criticizes Israel doesn’t make them a terrorist.”? No, but sending suicide bombers into markets and onto public buses does. Clearly you have no real understanding of the Israel/Palestine issue or any issues of significance for that matter. Remember, education is key. You’ll be a better person for it.
