HOPEFUL MAYER BLOGS ABOUT OBAMA

John Mayer sings about waiting on the world to change.

And now, he sounds like he believes it might be, in a new pro-Barack Obama blog item.

My generation has come to know itself as the generation that should have seen the good days, my, were they spectacular, now take off your shoes and place them on the belt.

But Obama’s hope offers more.

I believe the definition of the “hope” that Barack Obama enthuses operates on the unspoken thesis that there has to be a polar opposite to the despair of 9/11. Because if we accept that there’s not, the will to live becomes forever altered. To adults who will vote for him, Barack Obama represents a return to prosperity. To the youth, he represents an introduction to it.

“Barack Obama represents a return to prosperity.”? Really John Mayer? The historical record shows that when taxes are raised, as Obama admits he will do, prosperity declines, investment withers and businesses and the jobs they provide go elsewhere. But those are just facts, and I realize as a musician and a liberal, Mayer is more accustomed to emotion-based appeals. I suggest Mayer stick to what he knows—singing little songs for the amusement of others (those with poor taste anyway).

I think he speaks really well actually, but it’s hard to tell sometimes whether he is being serious or not or kind of sarcastic and smart ass-y. I think he’d be great on a talk show though, he’s definately entertaining even if he is a self proclaimed douchebag.

#10 - That question will remain unanswered. I have yet to hear any Obama supporter answer that question with anything other than “well he’s a good speaker.” Most people supporting Yomama are just displaying herd mentality.

Not even a week after the president election the blond topblogger from Sweden, Linda Ekholm speaks out loud about Obama!
And I really believe this is truly written by heart. Scary!
