Mr. Broderick and wife Sarah Jessica Parker are currently busy putting the final touches on a no-expenses-spared bash for their son’s upcoming birthday. He turns 6 tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Matthew is set to return to Broadway this spring in a Roundabout Theater Company revival of Christopher Hampton’s The Philanthropist.
The play will see Broderick as a university professor who exists outside of the real world and is insulated from the news of the day.
Previews for The Philanthropist begin April 10 ahead of an April 26 opening.
This play, of course, should not be mistaken for The Philanderer, which is the role Matthew chooses to play in real life.

Wow he is a Sarah Jessica mini-me.
He just looks like such an asshole. I really do hope SJP is leaving him.
Wow, the premise of that play sounds like George W. Bush’s world.
I have yet to see this boy in a decent outfit which is interesting considering his mommy is supposed to be such a fashionista. Does he even own a pair of pants that actually go past his ankles?
Who cares what the kid is wearing? He’s not posing for these pictures, his privacy is being invaded once again. SJP has clearly stated that she doesn’t buy him clothes, he wears his cousins hand me downs. Geez, just like my kids did when they were that age. Perhaps since the Brodericks are very involved in charity work, they donate that money to less fortunate people. FYI, you don’t want kids tripping over their pants, therefore shorter pants are a good idea.
As far as Matthew looking like an asshole, why because he’s an involved father walking his kid home from school?
