GWYNETH GOOPS ALL OVER YOUR PANCAKES

With the weekend just around the corner, Gwyneth Paltrow is offering her fans a fabulous idea for luxuious Sunday breakfast: Buckwheat and Banana Pancakes!

Says the actress-turned-guru in a just-released newsletter from her Goop website: “I absolutely love these buckwheat and banana pancakes, which I came up with when making breakfast for a friend who doesn’t eat eggs or dairy and doesn’t love wheat.” No word on her mystery friend.

I’ve got a thing for pancakes. This combination of nutty buckwheat and sweet, sticky banana is just great. You could sprinkle chopped walnuts on the pancakes as they’re cooking for a full-on pancake-meets-banana bread experience. These happen to be vegan, but don’t taste like it. Buckwheat flour adds a lot of value to the plain white flour – it’s rich in nutrients like calcium, iron, B vitamins and protein, and it’s gluten-free. Definitely worth a trip to the health food store.”

She also offers recipes for Asian Tuna Sandwiches with Soy and Sesame Mayo and a Carmelized Black Pepper Chicken dish. She promises that next week, “we’ll talk to three very cool doctors about how to achieve general health, well-being, detoxification and weight loss.

Ahh, Gwyneth. You gotta love how adorably unaware she is. While the rest of the world is busy getting second, third and forth jobs to deal with the global economic crisis, she’s offering upper crust recipes and novel ways to rid toxins. Now what was that she said about the nutty buckwheat…?

I would think that eating a microbiotic diet would give you better skin than that.

Woah she looks terrible here!! I’m hoping it is just the lighting or the angle or something and that her skin isn’t actually THAT BAD. I agree about buckwheat banana pancakes though :-) I’ve been making them for years, my boyfriend and I have them all the time! Delicious!

Yea, her skin does look kind of bad. Don’t make fun of what she says though. I’ve mentioned it way before, but became quasi vegetarian (stopped eating meat except for seafood) and buy as many products as can with natural, unchemical ingredients. Feel 100x better and your cravings for sh*t really, really quiets down. You just don’t want that cr*p in your body on a daily basis. And it’s not some fight to not eat the sh*tty foods, you just naturally start not wanting / needing them. Probably would help a lot of people feel better and reduce their healthcare costs.
