On The View today, resident circus ring leader Barbara Walters said that the T-shirt Elisabeth donned yesterday caused the show to get “e-mails and calls with people complaining.”
What was emblazoned across her chest? “Great Ameri(Mc)Cain Hero.”
With a quick roll of the eyes, Elisabeth huffed, “Well, they must all be voting for Obama.”
Responded Babs: “It’s one thing to wear it during Hot Topics but then when you’re interviewing celebrities….” She asked whether the jest then becomes “an advertisement.”
Elisabeth was quick to chime in with: “I designed the shirt. I sent it to the campaign! … That’s who my heart is for.”
And, of course, no event on The View can go by without Joy Behar throwing in her two cents. “I would wear an Obama T-shirt, she said. “But I would need shoulder pads and I don’t think that would look good.”
Now we ask for your thoughts. Was it politically incorrect for Elisabeth to wear a McCain shirt on the show?

No member of the view hides their political affiliation on the show. What does it matter if people see it worn accross their shirts or hear it in every politically charged comment they make on the show everyday? I myself can’t stand Elisabeth, but give her a break, there is absolutely nothing wrong with wearing that shirt.

Why do they even have her on the show? If you are going to pit 3 against one at least put someone up there like Ann Coulter. I’m not a fan, but at least that broad could hold her own against those vipers.

I am constantly amazed at the hypocracy of the liberal woman on the view…..especially Joy and Barbara. They lose all credibility with the ignorant attacks on Elizabeth, and for not letting her speak her opinion. I agree w/Rosalee….though even Ann might have a tough time getting a word in the way they shriek. Why hasn’t Elizabeth learned the tough talking points to shut them down? Oh, right, even if she did she would have enough time to get a full sentence in….I wish I could have five minutes in her place…..though I don’t think I would have the same restraint she does against that pack of wolves. The shirt is harmless, I’m glad Elizabeth wore it, and the others are simply worked up because she promoted her candidate over theirs.

First of all the complaints weren’t from the other women on the show it was from viewers who called into the show. Second of all, Elisabeth manages to spew her venomous mouth every single day on the show and it is totally appropriate for the other women on the show to voice their opinions as well. Barbara hardly ever takes a position and never says which candidate she is supporting and Joy is obviously a Democrat as entitled to speak as Elisabeth. Anyone who thinks that Elisabeth represents the Republicans well is ridiculous because she gets her talking points everyday from the McCain campaign and lately all she does is roll her eyes and shoot insults at Obama. In the time that she has been on that show she has not made one negative comment about a Republican, not one. Not about Katrina. Not about how this administration has treated veterans. I don’t get it. Liberals are usually so tolerant of opposing viewpoints. Take the people who post on this blog for example. They tend to be very accommodating of people who don’t share their personal political philosophy —unless you count calling conservatives, “cunts”, “whores”, “stupid bitches” and wish them to die or be sent to Iraq as punishment for their views as is common on this blog. But don’t fret. Obama knows how to bring people together. Just look at the tolerance displayed by his followers.

I don’t see why everyone hates on Elisabeth so much. She is an educated young woman who stays strong on her opinions and she has every right to support McCain. In fact, I think she’s really brave to stick with her beliefs despite so much opposition and ridicule from others. I personally don’t support McCain, but I don’t see why she can’t. There have been plenty of celebs sporting Obama shirts, hats, stickers etc so why can’t she wear a McCain shirt? I think the whole merchandising thing is rubbish, but to each their own I guess. I honestly cannot beleive the ridicule she gets for her political stance, I mean really.
