Before a live interview with documentary filmmaker Michael Moore, CNN aired a segment entitled ‘Sicko Reality Check’ in which resident brown dude in scrubs Dr. Sanjay Gupta aimed to keep Moore “honest” and fact check his new film, ‘Sicko.’
When given a chance to speak, Moore immediately put host Wolf Blitzer on the defensive.
“That report was so biased,” Moore blasted. “I can’t imagine what pharmaceutical company’s ads are coming up right after our break here.”
Watch the rest of the video. It’s truly riveting.
Team Moore!

Micheal Moore : the outspoken guy who speaks the truth. That was awesome.
He is so right! Team Moore all the way!
Go Mike!
MIchael Moore is burning every bridge for this movie. Who will help him promote his next one? Everyone sells out to a certain extent.
He’s not burning bridges. CNN will promote him next time with capital letters using the war font, because the controversy equals ratings.
I agree Barks. I was watching this clip, and I was just thinking, It’s such a shame. Because I think a lot of the information in this film about health care is accurate and not well known. and he could have such a great platform to get this message out there. But he’s such an ass sometimes, that it will turn some people off before they even get any details about the film. Seriously, I just think there are more adult ways to conduct yourself if your really want to reach the masses.
I honestly was cracking up when i saw the live interview, i love moore he soo funny when it comes to him defending his stuff. Now that i saw this interview imma actually go check the movie out now.
team moore all the way
CNN is the most liberal of all the media outlets, all you fucking sheep follow this fat turd in everything. But whatever, you lousy asses can go cherish moore until someone comes in and mops the floor with him.
That guy cracks me up. He just does not give a shit what people think of him.
Every American should see this film. We have fucked up this great country in the past 40-plus years. Go see Sicko and take your friends. Especially if you are young. Our econony cannot sustain its healthcare system with so many baby boomers heading towards medicare.
What’s the answer then? Government sponsered, socialized medicine?! Doesn’t the government screw up enough without getting involved in our medical business???
.
Look at the UK, years of socialized medicine and no one is living longer, healthier. What is happening is doctors are creating “private” hospitals and “private” clinics and charging only what the uber-rich can afford, everyone else stands in line waiting like a rat for their block of government cheese and if they die while in line the rest of the rats just keep moving ahead.
Michael Moore is the boy who cried wolf. Yes he has a message to get out (biased as it may be) but the more he squints his face, kicks his feet and whines about it the less and less people will listen.
I can’t stand Michael Moore. His tactics - such as using cheap editing tricks and actually fabricating scenes for his documentaries - turn people off to his messages. It’s hard to argue about gun control with someone who’s seen Bowling for Columbine and thinks that’s where you stand. I feel like he gives my side of the room a bad name, and I’m getting pretty sick of it.
for real, i think he’s on point with this. what person in their right mind would say that Americans have an adequate health care system in place? a friend was just telling me she was excited when she reached her 90 days that she was eligible for health care….then she gets a notice from the health ins co saying if she has been uninsured for 90 days then that is automatically a “pre exisiting condition” and she is not eligible for health care benefits!!!
Barks, all of this is done with his own funding, he doesn’t need anyone else to fund his next project. he gets 50% of the royalties from the theaters
“The man” — your comment was way out there. WTF??!
Michael Moore is a genius. One of the few people who has the intellect and the guts to stand up to a system completely corrupted by selishness and greed. Moore should have his own slot at CNN. The world doesn’t need floppy mouthed, golf course buddies like Lou Dobbs slopping his insidious trivial insults over life and death matters, without ever listening to WHAT THE SUCK Mike was actually saying. There is a serious intelligence defecit in America. It has been replaced by blind conformity and a willingness to tow the party line……….simply to fit in……out of fear…………..no matter how absurd. Just like the Iraq war…………..just like OJ………….just like so many other upside down versions of reality the USA projects across the world. That is why you have an idiot “buddy buddy” President and impeached Clinton, a genius, for having an extra maritial affair. 50% of Americans are divorced. GET A GRIP.
Whether or not you agree with Moore’s tactics, you have to give him credit: he gets attention to the issues. Whether or not you agreed with what was said in Fahrenheit 9/11, at least it made you think about it. No one can argue that our health care system is good here in the U.S. Whether or not you like him, at least he is getting you to think about it instead of just talking about Transformers or something equally non-relevant.
It’s one thing to be loyal and be patriartic to your own country, it’s another to be able to self reflect and self critical to change for the better. Which film maker does not have a subjective point of view? It is with your own intelligent to decipher what’s the truth and whats exaggeration. Nothing is worst than close mindedness and making assumation that certain movie is either positive or negative. One flaw that I observe about American is the need to be politically partisan about every issue. One is either a right wing or left wing supporter before any issue was even raise. At least the politicians are muddling the isuues questioning the citizens loyalty whenever there’s a social or political agenda being raise. It’s time Americans stop being afraid of their politicians. It’s time to prioritize the important of keeping a country strong and free. It is time to take up the responsibility to ask and question your employees, starting from the president to your local council men. It’s not easy to run a country like United States. Can you imagine there’s no one care about the employees who serve you at your local restaurants. Would you feel safe to eat there? It’s not a reality series. It’s the real Hell kitchen that you are living in.
My god! 90 days is a “pre-existing” condition? I was denied healthcare because I went to the doctor once in a year and was prescribed two different meds for my asthma. I haven’t had healthcare for almost 10 years.
does anyone know how many stock holdings in pharmy companies moore has?
or do you only note hypocrisy when it’s on the right?
shit, i forgot to say that i also think moore is a big ole hypocrite (holding stock in halliburton after Farenheit 911 is adam’s point). however, i don’t think that detracts from this particular message. although i think it is fucked up, personally. we should all hold ourselves accountable.
“Look at the UK, years of socialized medicine and no one is living longer, healthier.”
Untrue. The CIA World Factbook is online if you’re interested in, y’know, actual facts.
Ok so you believe the CIA when it supports your argument, but when it comes to WMDs or Gitmo they’re a bunch of lying snakes…. gotcha. You really play on a unlevel playing field.
My arguments about Gitmo and WMD? WTF are you talking about? Try and stay focused here, Janie. We’re talking about healthcare. This debate does have many nuances, but most people are at least able to agree upon basic facts.
.
Check any resource you like, Brits have a lower infant mortality rate and a longer life span than Americans. No one, not even the freaking CIA, disputes this. But by all means, if you suspect that the CIA is somehow behind this whole universal healthcare push, feel free to check out the WHO’s stats. Or google up the national statistics websites for the US and the UK. Knock yourself out.
.
Look, you can argue that there are acceptable reasons for the differences in these stats, or argue that the numbers misrepresent reality, that’s all cool. Lying about the numbers just makes you look stupid though.
