The panel failed to agree after four votes about whether the comeback diva was guilty of driving without a valid driver’s license, a misdemeanor.
The judge declared it a mistrial.
Britney faced jail time and a fine if convicted. But now she is free to roam the streets of L.A. anytime she wants.

Nice to know that our hard earned tax dollars are being wasted on stupid shit like this just becuase this moron thinks she resided in Louisiana!!!
I dunno, I kind of side with her on this one. My sister moved to another province and didn’t change her license over for a long time. A lot of university students keep their address as their parents, if it gets them cheaper insurance. I didn’t’ switch my address over to my new house and I’ve been living there a year. She has a license, so I would have been against charging her. Maybe if she didn’t have ANY valid license, that would be another story. But give me a break.
You gotta love Hollywood. Only in LA could a jury not decide something as simple as: either she was driving illigally without a license or not? She has lived in LA for years and years, but the stupid fools believed her lawyers bullshit.
big money payoff thats what that was.. damn shame!
God this whole thing has just been one big mess that has dragged on forever. I agree with Meaghan, it’s not as if she didn’t have a license at all, it’s just that it wasn’t a Californian license. I think anyone could make that mistake really. The decision shouldn’t have been that hard.
