After checking into the Omni Berkshire Hotel in New York for her debut on Saturday Night Live over the weekend, the Republican VP candidate reportedly asked for copies of the Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, New York Post, Daily News and USA Today.
Meanwhile, Sarah’s SNL sidekick Alec Baldwin is defending her appearance on the show, asking disappointed viewers what exactly it was that they were expecting.
“It’s not Meet The Press. It doesn’t ‘ask the tough questions’ or ’set the agenda.’ It attempts, with varying degrees of success, to make people laugh. That’s it. Whether they skewer and savage people in order to do so, they don’t care. When you come on a show like that, you are prepared in advance to get worked over. Palin knew that. Palin came on to be a good sport. And she was. She was polite, gracious. (More so than some of the famous actors who come through there, believe me.)
However, I assume that, like Meet the Press, SNL feels an obligation to offer their special forum to any and all public figures and officials who are current. Headline making. And in SNL’s case, would make for a hit show. Several people decried SNL for giving her a spot on the show. You’re kidding, right? The woman is the Vice Presidential nominee of one of the two major parties in this country. Don’t put her on SNL? With all of her exposure and the Tina Fey performance? What reality are you in?”

You can tell she was directed to SHUT UP. SHe hardly said anything on the show. Took no risk. McCain and his minnions must have been thrilled that she didn’t put another foot in her mouth this late into his crappy campaign.
The McCain/Palin ticket is in so much trouble they would even let her go on SNL to be humiliated and made fun of. And Palin is such a dim bulb that she didn’t even really get that she was being made fun of.

Note also that punitive taxation of businesses and the “rich” as Obama proposes does not improve economic prosperity, but rather constrains it. Additional taxes on corporations that choose to stay in the country rather than relocate to more business-friendly countries are simply passed down to consumers in the form of higher prices. Higher prices lead to inflation and lower dollar value—the very thing you complain about. Perhaps you should focus more on the content of the valid arguments put forward and less on inconsequential things like proper use of an apostrophe. You might just learn something.
